This board originally airbrushed to a dark teal was a patchy mess and when sanded for a restart produced an interesting scraffito background for this image. The end result is much better for this unexpected change of plan which allows the forms to coalesce and mix without the  black areas fighting for attention against a forbidding dark backdrop.
