If you want to change the name of a series, or propose a new multi-level series, make sure to leave a note about it on WT:UTM, so that it can be fully integrated as a warning template if there are no major objections. Before creating new templates, please check to see if the template in mind already exists, to avoid duplication. Note: User warning templates are generally semi-protected. However, creation of a template does not automatically semi-protect it; be sure to request semi-protection. In the meantime, make sure the template does not erroneously indicate that it is already semi-protected.

In early 2007, the multi-level templates underwent a harmonisation program by the WikiProject user warnings. The old template grid may still be found here with the details here. Please visit the project pages for some important changes about the implementation of these templates, especially the test templates and the new vandalism warnings.

One of the hallmarks of a TED talk is actually how little the speaker tends to rely on visual aids, if at all. TED talk slides tend to be sparse, minimal, and image heavy. They provide a backdrop and visual context for the story being told, but they are not intended to be read. As a result, there IS no standard TED talk template.

This template is a version of {{Reflist}} designed for use outside of articles, for example on talk pages. Like, {{Reflist}}, it creates a list of all references that have been defined with ... tags on the page above the template (but below any other instances of a reflist template). The list is displayed inside a bordered box and with a title ("References" by default) that is not formatted as as a section heading.

{{Section references}} now redirects here to {{Reflist-talk}}. However, previously it was a different template that was deleted, with the existence of this template as part of the justification. See Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2015 March 2#Template:Section references for details.

Passed to {{reflist}}. Group is an identifier which restricts the references that are shown. Without this parameter, this template only shows references with no group identifier. With a group identifier specified, only references with a matching group identifier are handled. The rest are left alone.

Long gone are the days of the traditional book talks. The ones where the students simply recite the same script: introduce themselves, state the book title, tell a fact about a book, and encourage the audience to check it out. Our students are way too creative for that, so we need to give them a chance to let their creativity shine through their book talks! I created a FREE book talk template for you to use to help your students plan more engaging book talks!

The rough draft graphic organizer walks students through the creation of their actual script. It provides suggestions for the book introduction, talking points, and closing. Several sentence stems are also provided for students who need additional scaffolding.

Students can perform their book talks for their classmates, but I highly recommend making it into a video. My students used iPads to record their own book talks and edited them using WeVideo. Our school also has our own YouTube channel where we can post the videos. You can even create QR codes for students to view the videos. It just adds an extra level of excitement for the students.

Dr. Brad Gustafson is hosts a yearly Book Talk Tournament featuring 30 second Book Talks from 8 Lead Learners and 8 Literacy Legends. Check them out for some inspiring book talks to get you and your students excited to start creating your own!

A very important part of any event is the promotion, to be able to reach any place and have a large attendance. That is achieved with a good marketing plan! This design we propose here is perfect for promoting a talk show. Why? Look at the style. The backgrounds simulate the classic red curtain of theaters, there are neon letters like the door signs of the big theaters and also stars as decoration. Who will be the next guest? Tell it in the presentation.

That template engine is great, in my beginnings with Processwire I was testing with this excellent module developed by @tpr it's very complete, with many additions and filters to extend it. But I finally ended up using Markup Regions when it came out around the same time. I wasn't that ready yet for that "advanced" PHP. I'll keep an eye on your module, maybe I'll try again with Latte ?

This is a great idea. But just to be clear on something. Can someone confirm (I've been trying to do so for a while) that a newly installed MediaWiki does not ship with any standard templates? (I ask the question because I was watching a Wikia instructional video on YouTube which mentioned (paraphrasing) that "wikis" come with ~200 standard templates. I believe the speaker must have been referring to Wikia's own mediawiki setup, not in general, but their wording was ambiguous. It seems that the existence of this Template Repository page implies that not much if anything ships template-wise, but just wanted to confirm that's what's happening. Thanks! I now just noticed from one of the comments below a reference to Wikia consistent with what I was thinking, and also stating that MW's don't ship with templates, so I may have the answer in hand. --24.186.19.116 21:53, 4 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm currently trying to copy over the artist infobox template(s) from wikipedia, anybody have advice on how to speed this up or do it correctly? i feel like i'm just copy/pasting tonnes of material and i fear if i miss a single line of code that the whole thing will be messed up, and i'll have no idea how to fix it! One plus however, I only have one or two other templates active on my wiki, so i could possibly package it all together for upload. --Terrestri 03:38, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I love this idea too. Ideally, the simple template system should use the same names as some of the existing templates, so that when you copy over help pages, these basic templates are sufficient to make them work. However, we don't want to conflict with the existing templates, and probably don't want to destroy them.

Perhaps another approach is to build the simple templates with unique, but reasonable names (e.g. Tag, NOT Simple_ambox). Further, we can edit the help pages on mediawiki to use these simple templates, rather than their more complicated cousins. This way, copying the help files and the templates produces a complete, working, default wiki.

Some readers may be interested in the Templates Wikia - Not public domain, but CC-BY-SA, as is Wikipedia, so if your wiki is CC-BY-SA you can copy them with suitable acknowledgment, though some of the more complex ones are not entirely compatible with Wikipedia because of some Wikia divergences and extensions. The best of the templates are copied to the Wikia "starter pack" given to all new Wikia sites and often copied to older Wikia sites. Robin Patterson 05:17, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That IS an awesome idea indeed!!! I think we can just start do add our favourite pieces of templates right here. I worked had to create as pretty infoboxes for Wiki of the 90th in Russia as Wikipedia has. I'll really try to contribute here!!

This is embarrassing, how long this has been without resolution. I am working on Wikia's templates wiki (the first Google result for "templates wiki") and we have cleaned it up very much for Wikia users; we are willing to clearly demarcate templates that are vanilla Mediawiki compatible for use on externally-hosted wikis.

Any reason for not having this page removed already? Also, any reason for ; instead of : namespace separator? I created this page, but I understand the reason for being deprecated and I'd be fine having it removed. -- Josephgbr (talk) 20:27, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

As a sales manager, you can work with your team to see who has the best answer to common questions, or who easily overcomes those tough objections. Then, you take the best talk tracks your team has already developed, and create a document that helps all the reps on your team sound more confident. Add this to your sales enablement content to level up your team. ff782bc1db
