About us

GenerationNation develops a new generation of civic leaders.  Students build civic literacy, becoming civic leaders who know first-hand how the community works, explore and discuss local civic issues, know how to find  and use good sources of civic information, and build social capital, knowledge, and experience for leadership now and into college, career, and civic life. Programs include Charlotte-Mecklenburg Youth Council, Youth Lead Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Student Advisor to the school board, Kids Lead, the student mock election ("Kids Voting"), NC Civics Coalition, K-12 civic education, alumni and teachers networks, and other initiatives that build civic literacy and leadership from an early age.

NC Civics Coalition

NC Civics Coalition (NC3) is a nonpartisan group of civic champions working to elevate and strengthen K-12 civic education across North Carolina.
