Welcome to Gmet. Your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Gmet mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a seamless experience, we collect specific data when you interact with Gmet.
Account Authentication
We use secure authentication methods to protect your account. We collect:

Google Account Data: If you choose Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture provided by Google.

Email Information: If you sign up via email, we collect and store your email address for account management and security.
•
Note: We do not use mobile numbers for the login process.
Business & Discovery Information
When you register a business/place, we collect:

Business Name and Owner Name.
•
Business Category and Sub-category.
•
Full Address and Location Coordinates (GPS).
•
Business Photos.
•
Professional Contact Number: The mobile number provided during registration is used for our core "Search by Mobile Number" discovery feature.
Search & Public Visibility
Gmet is a business discovery platform. By registering your business, you consent to make your business details—including Name, Location, and Professional Contact Number—searchable by other users. The 'Search by Mobile Number' feature allows customers to verify your business identity and navigate to your location accurately.
2. Core Features & Data Handling
Return to Home (Local Privacy)
•
Function: This feature saves your starting location (GPS coordinates) to help you navigate back later.
•
Storage: This data is stored locally on your device (SharedPreferences).
•
Privacy: It is never sent to our servers.
•
Control: You can enable/disable this via "Ask to save start location" in settings and clear saved data at any time.
Smart Reach (Temporary Cloud Data)
•
GPS & Media: We collect temporary precise location data, landmark photos, and voice instructions to guide visitors.
•
Expiration: All Smart Reach data is strictly temporary and is automatically purged from our servers within a maximum of 24 hours (or as selected by the owner).
Biometric Security
•
The app uses system-level biometric authentication (Fingerprint/Face Lock) for local app access. We do not collect, see, or store any biometric data.
3. Permissions
•
Location: Required to register businesses, provide real-time navigation, and facilitate the "Return to Home" feature.
•
Camera: Required for scanning Gmet QR codes and capturing business photos.
•
Microphone: Used only for recording temporary voice instructions in the Smart Reach feature.
•
Contacts: Our "Pick from Contacts" feature allows you to select specific numbers to share navigation links. We do not upload your contact list to our servers.
4. Data Storage & Security

Service Provider: We use Google Firebase for secure data storage and real-time database management.
•
Security Measures: We implement industry-standard encryption and restricted database access to prevent unauthorized data leaks.
5. Third-Party Services & Ads
•
Advertisements: Gmet displays ads via Google AdMob. These services may collect anonymous identifiers (like Advertising ID) to show relevant ads.

External Links: Navigation is facilitated through Google Maps. Please refer to Google’s privacy policy for their data practices.
6. User Rights & Deletion
You have full control over your data:

Edit/Delete: You can edit or delete your business listings at any time.
•
Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your Gmet account through the Settings menu. Upon deletion, all your business listings and associated data are immediately removed from our active index.
7. Children’s Privacy
Gmet is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
