GlucoGuide is developed by Thomas Dempster. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
GlucoGuide uses Google Firebase to manage accounts and sign-in. Firebase processes account information associated with your sign-in method to provide authentication. Account information is handled online, separately from the readings and photos stored on your device.
Learn more about Firebase privacy and security.
GlucoGuide stores your glucose readings and photos locally on your device. Your stored glucose readings are not automatically sent to Gemini.
Local storage does not mean that information submitted to the AI stays on your device, as explained below.
GlucoGuide uses Google Gemini to provide AI responses. When you use these features, your chat messages and photos submitted for analysis are sent to Google for processing.
If you include glucose readings or other personal information in a chat message, that information is also sent to Gemini. Only include information you are comfortable submitting for AI processing.
Google’s processing and retention of AI inputs and responses are governed by the terms applicable to the Gemini service used by GlucoGuide. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Gemini API terms.
Readings and photos stored locally remain on your device until removed. Copies may also be included in device backups, depending on your device settings.
To request deletion of your account or ask for help removing information, contact tomdempster027@gmail.com. Removing local information does not itself delete your Firebase account or information already processed by Google.
If you contact support, we receive the information you provide, including your email address and message, and use it to respond to your request.
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to GlucoGuide or its data practices. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
