Glovira ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, Glovira (package name: com.livevoice.glovira), hereinafter referred to as the "App."
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
Glovira is designed as a privacy-first, offline-capable voice interpreter.
Voice recordings and microphone inputs are processed entirely on your device.
Audio data is converted to text locally using our embedded on-device Speech-to-Text engine.
We do not upload, stream, or store your voice audio on our servers or share it with third parties.
We collect information in three ways: information you provide voluntarily, information processed automatically to perform translations, and diagnostic/analytical data collected by third-party services.
Microphone & Audio Input: The App requests access to your device's microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) to capture your voice.
On-Device Speech Recognition (Speech-to-Text) & Audio Processing:
All speech recognition and audio enhancement are performed locally on your device.
To provide speech-to-text functionality, the App uses embedded AI speech recognition models, including NVIDIA Parakeet and NVIDIA Nemotron, running locally via ONNX Runtime. Audio noise reduction and enhancement are performed using RNNoise technology.
Your voice recordings are processed entirely on your device and are not transmitted to our servers or any third-party cloud servers for speech recognition or audio processing.
Third-party components and AI models are used under their respective licenses, which are listed in the application's Third-Party Notices section.
Voice Synthesis (Text-to-Speech):
Offline Voice Synthesis (Piper TTS): If you select the Piper TTS engine, voice synthesis is performed entirely offline on your device, and no data is transmitted over the internet.
Google Cloud TTS (Google Synthesis): If you enable Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, the translated text is sent to Google's Text-to-Speech API servers to generate high-quality voice synthesis. No voice audio is sent to Google; only the text to be spoken is transmitted.
System Android TTS: If you use the system's default Text-to-Speech engine (typically Google Speech Services), it may process text locally or transmit it to Google's servers depending on your device configuration and system settings. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Offline Translation (Offline AI Brain): If you translate using the Offline Brain (ML Kit, LiteRT, or llama.cpp with downloaded GGUF models), all text translation and offline voice synthesis are executed entirely on your device. No translation data is transmitted over the internet.
Online Translation (Online AI Brain): If you choose to enable the Online AI Brain, the App converts your voice to text on-device, and then sends the transcribed text to your selected Cloud AI Provider (e.g., Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic Claude) to perform the translation.
If you supply your own API key, it is stored securely on your device using Android encrypted preferences (DataStore) and sent directly to the cloud provider.
No voice audio is sent to these cloud providers; only the transcribed text queries are transmitted.
Account Information: If you voluntarily register an account (via Google Sign-in or Email/Password), we collect your name, email address, profile picture (avatar URL), and preferred languages. This is handled securely through Firebase Authentication and stored in our database hosted on Supabase.
User-Controlled Synchronization (Opt-In History Sync): By default, your translation history and transcriptions are stored only locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
To sync your history across multiple devices, you must explicitly enable the "Sync History" switch/toggle inside the App's settings.
No translation history is synchronized or sent to our servers automatically unless you explicitly turn this switch ON. You can disable this synchronization at any time.
User-Generated Settings & Profiles: Saved translation settings, preferred language pairs, API key configurations, and subscription status.
To support the App's functions, monetization, and maintenance, we utilize trusted third-party SDKs that may collect standard technical data:
Device & Usage Diagnostics: We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to collect information about crash events, device models, operating system versions, and feature usage patterns (such as selected language pairs, translation completions, model downloads, onboarding steps, and authentication methods). When you are logged in, analytics events may be associated with your anonymous internal account identifier to provide aggregate usage insights. This helps us maintain a high crash-free rate and optimize performance.
AdMob Advertising: On the free tier, we display ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device’s advertising identifier (e.g., Android Ad ID) and network information to display relevant ads.
Google Play Billing: If you purchase subscriptions or in-app items, transactions are processed directly by the Google Play Store. Glovira does not collect, store, or access your credit card numbers or financial details. We only receive verification of successful purchases.
To access translation services powered by online/cloud AI providers (the "Online Brain"), Glovira utilizes a unified Cloud Credits system. This system regulates API consumption and covers server/computational costs:
Local & Offline Processing is Free: Any translation or voice processing performed using on-device technology (e.g., Offline Brain, local GGUF models, ML Kit, Piper TTS) is completely free and consumes zero credits.
Online Credits Consumption: When you enable the "Online Brain" (such as Google Gemini, OpenAI GPT, or Anthropic Claude), credits are deducted from your balance per translated phrase.
Model Cost Multipliers: Different AI models have varying sizes, computational complexities, and API operational costs. Consequently, standard and premium models require a multiplier of credits per phrase:
1 Credit / Phrase: Highly efficient, lightweight models (e.g., gpt-4o-mini).
2 Credits / Phrase (2x): Standard high-performance models (e.g., gemini-2.5-flash, gemini-3.5-flash).
3 Credits / Phrase (3x): Intermediate models (e.g., claude-3-5-haiku).
4 Credits / Phrase (4x): Premium flagship models (e.g., gpt-4o).
5 Credits / Phrase (5x): Advanced professional models (e.g., gemini-2.5-pro, gemini-3.1-pro-preview).
6 Credits / Phrase (6x): Ultra-premium flagship models (e.g., claude-3-5-sonnet).
How to Acquire Credits:
Initial Balance: New users receive 30 free credits upon account initialization.
Rewarded Ads: Free tier users can choose to watch rewarded advertisements to earn +40 credits per ad.
Subscriptions: Paid subscription tiers automatically grant a monthly quota of credits (e.g., Local Monthly grants 500 credits, Interpreter grants 3,000 credits, Business grants 8,000 credits).
Day Passes & Credit Packs: Users can purchase one-time credit packs (e.g., 100 or 500 credits) or temporary passes (Traveler/Conference passes) via Google Play Billing.
To deliver real-time speech translation, Glovira requires the following Android system permissions:
Record Audio (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO): Required to capture voice inputs from the microphone for on-device speech-to-text recognition.
Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to download language packs and LLM models from the Model Hub, sync profile data, process online translations (if enabled), verify subscriptions, and load ads.
Network State (android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used to detect if the device is online or offline, allowing the App to switch between the Offline and Online Brains seamlessly.
Foreground Service (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC): Used to run continuous speech recognition (e.g., in background/conversation mode) and manage large offline model downloads without interruption when the screen is off.
Post Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required on Android 13+ to display notifications for download progress or active foreground services.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features (such as language translation and speech synthesis).
Synchronize your translation history and profile across devices (if logged in).
Host and facilitate real-time translations in Public Translation Rooms.
Manage subscriptions, verify purchases, and display advertisements on the free tier.
Monitor App performance, debug crashes, and enhance security.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf to run the App, or as required by law:
AI Service Providers (Optional & Opt-In): Transcribed text is sent to Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic Claude only when the user selects the "Online Brain" for translation.
Cloud Infrastructure Providers: Firebase (Google) and Supabase host our backend infrastructure, database, authentication, and files securely.
Advertising Partners: Google AdMob receives device indicators to display ads on the free tier.
Speech Synthesis Providers (Optional): If you use the Google Cloud TTS engine or the default system Android TTS engine (Google Speech Services), the text to be spoken is transmitted to Google's servers to generate audio output. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Legal Compliance & Government Requests: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, search warrant, or lawful subpoena. Because Glovira is built on a privacy-by-design architecture, we do not monitor, record, or store your voice audio or your local translation history on our servers, and therefore cannot provide such data to third parties or governments under any circumstances (as we do not possess it). We can only provide data that you have explicitly opted to synchronize to our cloud database (such as account profile info or synchronized history).
Local Storage: Your translation history is stored locally on your device in a private SQLite database (Room). You can clear this history at any time from the App Settings or by deleting the App's storage.
Cloud Database: If you register an account and opt-in to history synchronization, your translation history, profile data, active room listings, and preferences are stored securely on our Supabase database. If you turn off the "Sync History" toggle, new translations will no longer be uploaded, and you can choose to delete any previously synced history from the cloud.
Data Security: We implement industry-standard database security and encryption protocols to protect your profile and synced history from unauthorized access.
Retention: We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you delete your account, all your personal information, profile data, and synced translation history will be permanently purged from our active databases.
Analytics Data Retention: Technical and feature usage data collected via Firebase Analytics is retained for a maximum of 14 months by default, in accordance with Firebase's data retention policies, and is used solely for performance analysis and app improvement.
