Specialized Globe Roll 2 SE
If you've never ridden a fixed gear / single-speed bike, the 2011 Specialized Globe Roll 2 Special Edition is a great place to start. The rear hub has a freewheel on one size and a fixed cog on the other for an easier transition - you can start out single-speed and then move to fixed by simply flopping the wheel. And if you already love that fixie zen, the Globe Roll 2 will not disappoint.
This one has been upgraded with Ultegra brakes, a Nitto stem, Soma Fabrications Highway 1 bar, TRP brake levers, Blackspire pedals, and more.
Bike is available for a test ride on NC State's campus. Please eMail me at bikestrong@gmail.com to arrange a test ride or ask questions. Bike is set up on freewheel side for test rides.

Sugino crankset with a Messenger 42-tooth chainring. The 42x17 drivetrain is incredibly stealth. Even the upgraded freewheel is almost silent.
Horizontal drop with setscrews allows easy and precise chain tension adjustment. ACS Crossfire 17-tooth freewheel on one side of the hub (shown here), EighthInch 17-tooth fixed cog on other side. Note the refined-looking, hexagonal hub bolt.
