Privacy Policy — Globe

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Globe app ("Globe", "the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Globe helps you size a solar inverter, battery, and panel system for your home, office, or shop based on the appliances you plan to run.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — Name (optional) and email address, only if you create an account or sign in, so your saved calculations can sync across devices.
- App activity — the appliances, wattages, backup-time preferences, and system recommendations you save inside the app.
- Diagnostic data — standard technical data collected automatically by Firebase (e.g. app instance identifiers) to keep authentication and cloud sync working reliably.
You can use the core calculator without creating an account — in that case your calculations stay only in local storage on your device and are never sent to our servers.
2. How we use your information
To create and manage your account, sync saved calculations across devices, generate the PDF reports you choose to export or share, and maintain and improve app reliability and security. We do not use your information for advertising, and the app does not display ads.
3. How we store and protect your information
Account data and saved calculations are stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which encrypts data in transit and at rest. Data saved without an account stays only in local storage on your device.
4. Third-party services
Globe uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Remote Config) for account sign-in and cloud sync of saved calculations. This provider processes data on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments and does not use your data for its own purposes. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data with the service provider listed above, as needed to operate the app, or if required by law.
6. Your choices
- Access and export — view and export (as PDF) your saved calculations at any time from within the app.
- Deletion — delete individual saved calculations from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we will action the request within 30 days.
- No account, no cloud data — if you never create an account, no personal data ever leaves your device.
7. Children's privacy
Globe is not directed at children and is not designed for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
