Global Mattole Youth Environmental StewardsÂ
The Mattole Restoration Council and its community and placed-based partners have come together to cultivate and foster the emerging conservation practitioners and leaders of tomorrow.
The goal of the program is to create opportunities for youth from around the globe to engage in place-based ecological community resilience building in a setting where people are intentionally a part of the ecosystem.
Open to global youth ages 12-17, Global Interns of MYES provides in-person immersive mentoring and training through engagement in place-based community programs.
Participants will get an introduction to building resilience through place-based relationships, collecting field data within the Mattole ecosystems, sustainable farming practices, and engaging in community strategies to address the climate change and biodiversity loss which effects each of us, including the youth who will inherit the environmental challenges shaped by the decisions made today and tomorrow.
