The Global Educator’s Resource Bank project will bring together 150 teacher participants from 10 countries to learn about how to create projects that engage students in project-based learning in virtual learning ecosystems. Participants will attend and collaborate on an eight-week professional development series.
Who should participate?
If you have participated in or have an affiliation with a Fulbright program or Regional English Language Office Program, and are interested in gaining new skills to become a Global Educator, this 8-week course is for you. It's for English teachers from the primary to university levels. Each week you will learn a new creative skill that you can apply in your teaching from an expert in the field. Please note: if you have worked with the Fulbright or RELO program in any capacity, or are just interested in applying for a Fulbright, you are encouraged to apply for this grant.
Project benefits for participants
You will receive a virtual certificate of completion with up to 35 credit hours

Module Descriptions
Sessions: March 28th at 8am EST and March 30th at 7pm EST.
Module 1: How to spark learning in virtual ecosystems with Ramsey Musallam
Ramsey Musallam, PhD will kick-off our speaker series with his insight on how educators can connect with their students in virtual spaces to rethink project-based learning. Our breakout sessions will focus on brainstorming how to meet the needs of diverse settings with different technological capabilities.
Sessions: April 11th at 8:30am EST and April 13th at 7pm EST
Judi Freeman will share her insights on establishing virtual exchanges based on her experience leading the "Civic Obligation and Responsibility Project." She will also introduce apps and Web services to facilitate exchanges and connect students with global peers. Our breakout sessions will focus on start virtual collaborations within our own Global Educator's Resource Bank network.
Sessions: April 18th at 8:00am EST and April 20th at 7pm EST
Frank Finale will lead us through the design process of creating a virtual graphic novel. Our breakout sessions will focus on how to adapt this project to your virtual lesson plans.
Sessions: April 25th at 8:00am EST and April 27th at 7pm EST
Yogi Guyadin (Y?) will demonstrate how to incorporate art and expressive sounds into interpersonal communication activities. Our breakout sessions will allow us to practice these activities and share applicable uses for our own lessons.
Sessions: May 2nd at 8:00am EST and May 4th at 7pm EST
We will begin our session with a movement and yoga class tailored to promote language learning and wellness. Our breakout discussions will focus on how to prioritize virtual wellness in our educational ecosystems.
Sessions: May 9th at 8:00am EST and May 11th at 7pm EST
Professor Christelle Scharff, PhD will discuss her own research on AI and apps redesigning education. Our breakout sessions will explore how educators can determine which apps are meaningful for their teacher and stay current on digital trends.
Sessions: May 16th at 8:00am EST and May 18th at 7pm EST
Amreen Poonawla will discuss her own experience as data-driven education platform founder and give insight on how to engage students in the data-collection and data-driven decision process.

About the organizers
The project organizers, Louise Goodman and Armen Kassabian, are both former State Department grant participants and passionate educators. Armen Kassabian has served as a Fulbright Teacher in Brazil and Regional English Language Fellow for the State in Mauritius. He currently works as a curriculum developer for Voices of America. Louise Goodman was a Fulbright Teacher in Brazil and Organization of American States Scholar. She currently serves as the Director of International Academic Programs and World Language Department Chair at Hilton Head Preparatory School in South Carolina.
