Minutes

Meeting Started at 6 pm

1. Welcome - Pondie (PTA president)

2. Approve the minutes from Feb 9

   1. Minutes approved

3. Sign up for Teacher Conference: Potluck Upper Thursday, March 26. 

   1. Stephanie S is lead on Upper

4. Lower Conference Potluck - Wed, April 1st. 

   1. Pondie is the lead on Lower

5. Treasurer Report (Hanan)

   1. Our balance is inflated bc of the fundraiser. We are running at a bit of a negative than what we were hoping. We haven’t seen as many workplace matches, less direct ask. We have a healthy savings account ($20,012 as of today), so we will definitely be able to cover our expenses.

   2. Upper and Lower checks for $5k will be delivered tomorrow.

3. Proposed budget for next year

   1. Also, we need a treasurer! 

   2. We based it on last two years’ budgets. Still planning same events. We did increase some for school celebrations by $200.

   1. We have been supporting 60 families. 

   2. On V-day, first grade classes made cards for families

   3. We have enough $$ to get us almost to Spring Break. It’s getting a bit tougher to get volunteers.

   4. Looking into getting boxed meals as kind of a transition off of our grocery support. Looking for any other ideas / connections to places. 

   5. We do need $3-4k to get us to Spring Break. 

   6. On the last bag, we would like to give them a more robust order since it’s heading into Spring Break. 

   7. Will be working with social workers and principals to communicate with families that this is winding down and this is why. 

   8. We will plan to close the Cheddar Up fundraiser on 3/15.

7. OBSERVERS: Signal - Volunteers, GAP Upper & GAP Lower (Alicia & Johno)

   1. Things have been quiet. Johno checked in with Principal Gámez, patrols will continue at Upper through the end of the week. 

   2. Lower: Just patrolling on two corners. Some community members might just be showing up. In the next couple of weeks patrols will likely be all done at Lower.

8. Fundraisers Eat out for GAP! (Pondie) 

   1. Chipotle was kind of a bust. They also aren’t being a great company these days, so maybe we don’t do any more with them. We only made $193.

   2. My Burger, March 16th, 4 - 8. Promocode: FUN

   3. Famous Dave’s - April 21st

9. Square One has begun (Michelle)

   1. Papers are at Lower and Upper. Michelle will collect everything on 3/16 then get magazines so people can order. 

   2. Pondie and Michelle will work on text blasts, other ways to reach out. 

10. Dance update: Upper 4/17, Lower April, 23rd * (Maggie)

    1. Maggie is taking the lead on Lower Dance on Thurs, Apr 23, 5:30-7:30

       1. Bingo

       2. Looking for volunteers, especially day-of volunteers 

       3. Food will be pizza

       4. If anyone is looking to learn about taking over for next year, please reach out to Maureen and Maggie.

11. No Plant Sale. 

12. What else?

    1. We need PTA officers. For sure a treasurer, maybe a VP.
