EDC15 takes 15% off all Global Yo eSIM data plans. It is a straight percentage reduction applied to the plan price at checkout, and it works on single-country plans as well as regional packages. It is not applied automatically by a link: you type it into the promo code field on the checkout or order summary screen, usually hidden behind a collapsed 'Promo code' or 'Have a discount code?' row, then press Apply and check that a discount line with a minus sign appears before paying.
Two limits shape who benefits. The discount does not apply to in-app wallet credit or rewards balance, and it is not stored on the account, so it has to be re-entered on every order. Codes also cannot be applied retroactively to completed orders.
The occasional traveller with an eSIM-ready phone. Global Yo sells prepaid, data-only packages for 200+ countries, with no subscription and no auto-renewal. If you travel a few times a year and simply want maps, messaging and email abroad without roaming charges, a 15% reduction on a one-off plan is a clean saving with nothing to cancel afterwards.
People buying regional or global packages. Because the code is a percentage rather than a flat amount, it scales. A multi-country regional package or a global plan for a longer trip will see a larger absolute reduction than a cheap single-country plan, where country plans start from around $2.19 in the cheapest markets.
Travellers who want to set things up before departure. The QR code arrives immediately by email and in the app, you can install while on Wi-Fi at home, and plans can be scheduled to activate on a specific date or activated manually on arrival. That suits anyone who dislikes hunting for a local SIM after landing.
Anyone comfortable in the app. iOS and Android apps show remaining data and plan status, and purchases sit in the 'My eSIMs' area, which helps if you are juggling plans across several destinations.
Owners of locked or non-eSIM phones. The device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Fifteen per cent off a plan you cannot install is no saving at all. Check first: iPhone installs under Cellular/Mobile Data > Add eSIM; Android follows Settings > Connections > SIM card manager > Add eSIM > scan QR code.
Anyone who needs calls or texts from a local number. Global Yo plans are data-only. There are no voice calls and no SMS from a local number, so if a local number is a requirement for bookings, deliveries or verification codes, this is the wrong product regardless of the discount.
Heavy data users chasing the lowest per-GB rate. No unlimited plans are offered, and Global Yo's per-GB rates sit above budget alternatives. A 15% cut narrows the gap but does not necessarily close it, so compare the displayed price per GB against what you would pay elsewhere before assuming the code makes it the cheapest option.
Topping up with wallet credit or rewards. The discount does not apply to in-app wallet credit or rewards balance, so a purchase funded that way will not benefit.
Long, open-ended trips with uncertain data needs. Plans expire at the end of the validity window and unused data does not carry over, so over-buying to maximise the percentage saving can waste more than the code returns.
Open globalyo.com or the Global YO app and search your destination, or pick a regional or global plan from the destination picker.
Choose the data amount and validity, then continue to the order summary.
Tap the collapsed 'Promo code' row to expand the text input.
Type EDC15 in capitals with no leading or trailing spaces and press Apply.
Confirm the total has dropped by 15% before paying.
Apply the code before switching to Apple Pay or Google Pay, since jumping to an app checkout first can bypass the field. It is normally entered once per order. Whether one order can cover plans for several travellers is not stated, so check on site if you are buying for a group.
Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi, then enable data roaming on the Global YO profile once abroad, or the plan will not connect. Nothing ships physically and nothing renews on its own.
