The Holy Cross Family Ministries team set out for their Hike with Mother Mary on the Ngong Hills, joined by Asher Kaufman, an American teen who was in the country promoting the Children’s Rosary, and the vibrant youth of Outering Deanery. Guided by the words of Fr. Patrick Peyton, “The family that prays together stays together,” the team hoped to strengthen families, inspire young people, and carry hope into a world longing for peace.
As they climbed, voices rose in rhythm with their steps, praying the Rosary with Mother Mary as their companion on the journey. Each bead became a petition for healing within families, across communities, and beyond national borders. Asher’s youthful devotion reminded everyone that even the smallest hands can carry great hope through prayer.
The group paused for team-building activities that sparked laughter and unity, and at the end of the hike, they planted trees—symbols of growth, renewal, and a future rooted in faith. United in purpose, they showed that with Mary as their guide, prayer knows no borders, and hope can travel farther than any mountain path.
Here are images beautifully capturing the Hike with Mother Mary on the Ngong Hills and other activities at the center.
