This privacy policy explains how Glimr collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Glimr mobile app.
what we collect
When you use Glimr, the following information may be processed:
Onboarding answers — your responses to questions about your skin type, concerns, sensitivities, current routine, and skincare goals
Optional selfie — if you choose to take a selfie during onboarding, the image is sent to our AI provider for skin analysis and is not retained after processing
Product photos — when you scan a product label, the image is sent to our AI provider to extract ingredient information and is not retained after processing
Your Glimr ID — the personalized skin profile generated from your inputs
Products you add — the names, brands, and routine slots of products in your daily routine
Daily ritual log — which products you've checked off on which days
Account information — when you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier, your name (if you choose to share it), and a private relay email address from Apple. We do not see your real Apple ID email unless you share it.
Subscription information — if you purchase a Glimr Pro subscription, we receive purchase status and entitlement information through our subscription provider. We do not see or store your payment card details.
where your data is stored
Your data is stored in two places:
On your device — for fast access and offline use, your Glimr ID, products, and ritual log are cached locally using your phone's built-in storage
On our servers — to enable account sync, your data is also stored securely in our cloud database. This allows you to access your Glimr ID and routine across devices if you sign in.
If you use Glimr without signing in, your data remains only on your device.
third-party services
Glimr uses the following third-party services to function:
Anthropic, PBC — provides the AI (Claude) that generates your Glimr ID, analyzes selfies and product photos, and produces personalized verdicts. Photos and prompts are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Per Anthropic's API policy, this data is not retained for training purposes. Supabase, Inc. — provides our cloud database, authentication, and API proxy infrastructure. Your account data, Glimr ID, products, and ritual log are stored securely in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase's privacy policy: https://supabase.com/privacy
Apple, Inc. — provides Sign in with Apple, which handles authentication. Apple may share a private relay email and Apple-issued user identifier with us. Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
RevenueCat, Inc. — processes Glimr Pro subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives anonymized purchase information from Apple's App Store and manages subscription state. RevenueCat does not see or store payment card details. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or any party not listed above.
how we use your data
Your information is used solely to:
Generate your personalized Glimr ID
Provide product verdicts based on your skin profile
Track your daily routine across your devices
Authenticate your account
Manage your subscription entitlements
Display your information back to you in the app
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing to you.
children's privacy
Glimr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used Glimr, contact us and we will help delete any associated data.
your rights
You can:
Delete all your data at any time by tapping "reset all data" in the Settings screen of the app. This permanently removes your Glimr ID, onboarding answers, products, and ritual log from both your device and our servers.
Sign out of your account at any time through Settings, which removes locally cached data while keeping your synced data on our servers (in case you sign back in).
Cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Subscription settings.
Request your data by emailing us at glimrappsupport@gmail.com— we'll provide a copy of your stored data within 30 days.
Request account deletion by emailing us at glimrappsupport@gmail.com— your account and all associated data will be deleted within 30 days.
data security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, and the infrastructure security of our cloud providers (Supabase, Apple, Anthropic, RevenueCat). No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Glimr grows and adds features. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email.

By using the Glimr app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
what glimr is
Glimr is a personalized skincare information tool. It analyzes products against your self-reported skin profile and provides AI-generated commentary about how those products may interact with your skin.
what glimr is not
Glimr is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice.
The verdicts, scores, and ingredient guidance in Glimr are for informational purposes only. They are not diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or a substitute for consulting a licensed dermatologist or healthcare provider.
If you have a skin condition, allergic reaction, or any health concern, consult a qualified medical professional. Do not rely on Glimr for medical decisions.
using the app
To use Glimr, you must be at least 13 years old. By using Glimr, you confirm you meet this requirement.
You agree to use Glimr only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You will not:
Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app
Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws
Attempt to interfere with the app's functionality or security
Use automated systems or bots to access the app
Create multiple accounts to abuse free-tier limits
your account
Glimr offers the option to create an account using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID credentials secure. Glimr is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised Apple ID credentials.
You may delete your account at any time through the app's settings or by emailing hello@glimr.app.
your content
Any photos you take or content you provide through Glimr (selfies, product photos, onboarding answers) remain your property. By using Glimr, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely for the purpose of providing you with verdicts and your personalized Glimr ID.
We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it for purposes outside of the app's stated functionality.
intellectual property
The Glimr name, logo, design, and all content created by Glimr (including the proprietary prompt systems that generate verdicts and Glimr IDs) are the property of Glimr and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute Glimr's branding or content without written permission.
third-party content
Glimr provides information about third-party skincare products. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any product brand or manufacturer mentioned in the app. Brand names are used for identification only.
Glimr's verdicts reflect personalized fit for your specific skin profile, not the inherent quality, safety, or efficacy of any product. Always read product labels and consult a dermatologist if you have concerns.
subscriptions and payments
Glimr offers optional paid subscriptions for unlimited scans and premium features (Glimr Pro). Subscriptions are managed through your Apple App Store account and processed through our subscription provider, RevenueCat.
Subscription auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Cancellation: You can cancel anytime through your iPhone's Subscription settings under your Apple ID
Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple per their App Store policies
Free trial: If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period if you cancel before it ends
Prices, features, and terms of subscriptions are described in the app's paywall and may change with reasonable notice.
disclaimers and limitations
Glimr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:
That verdicts are 100% accurate
That the app will be available without interruption or error
That product analyses match every possible skin reaction you may have
That AI-generated content will perform consistently in all conditions
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Glimr and its developers are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. This includes but is not limited to: skin reactions to products you continue to use based on Glimr's information, skin reactions to products you stop using based on Glimr's information, loss of data, or any other harm.
You use Glimr at your own discretion and risk.
termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Glimr if you violate these terms, abuse the service, or use the app in a harmful way. You can stop using Glimr at any time by uninstalling it from your device or deleting your account.
If your account is terminated for cause, you may not be eligible for a refund on remaining subscription time.
changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Glimr evolves. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in California, except where prohibited by law.
