THE SHORT VERSION
Glass Widgets has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We do not collect, sell or share your personal data. Everything a widget shows is read and drawn on your phone. The app only goes online to fetch weather (if you set it up), to download wallpapers, and for Google Play's licence check.
1. WHAT THE WIDGETS READ, AND WHERE IT GOES
A widget only reads the data it displays, and only after you add a widget that needs it. Android asks for your permission at that moment, and you can say no; the rest of the app keeps working. All of the data below stays on your device. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
- Calendar (Calendar permission): the titles and times of your upcoming events, for calendar widgets.
- Steps (Physical activity permission): today's step count from your phone's step sensor, for step widgets.
- Music (Notification access): the title, artist, album art and playback state of the song playing in your music app, so music widgets can show it and offer play, pause and skip. The app does not read, store or forward the content of your notifications.
- Data usage (Usage access): today's total mobile and Wi-Fi data, for data widgets. The app does not look at which apps you use.
- Wi-Fi network name (Location permission): Android only reveals the name of the connected Wi-Fi network to apps with location permission. Glass Widgets uses this permission for the network name alone. It does not track or store your location.
- Mobile network (Phone permission): your carrier name and network type (for example 4G or 5G), for network widgets. The app does not read your phone number, calls or messages.
- Battery, storage, memory, date and time: read from the system for the widgets that show them. These need no permission.
You can withdraw any permission at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Glass Widgets > Permissions (or Special app access for Notification access and Usage access). Widgets that rely on it will then show placeholder values.
2. WEATHER
Weather widgets use WeatherAPI.com with a free API key that you create and paste into the app yourself.
- To get a forecast, the app sends WeatherAPI.com your API key and the place you chose by searching for a city. The app does not send your GPS location.
- Your API key is stored on your phone. If your device supports it, Android also saves it in your own Google account backup (Google Block Store, end-to-end encrypted where available), so it comes back when you reinstall or move to a new phone. We never see your key.

If you never set up weather, the app never contacts WeatherAPI.com.
3. WALLPAPERS
The Walls tab downloads its list of wallpapers and the images themselves from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). As with any website, GitHub receives your IP address and basic request details when the files are downloaded. No personal data is attached. Favourite wallpapers are saved on your device only. If you use the app as a Muzei source, Muzei receives the wallpaper images on your device.
4. KWGT PRESETS
If you choose to open a preset in KWGT (a separate app by another developer), Glass Widgets passes that preset file to KWGT on your device. Your use of KWGT is covered by KWGT's own privacy policy.
5. GOOGLE PLAY
Glass Widgets is a paid app. Google Play checks your licence when the app starts, so Google can confirm you bought it. Purchases, payments and that check are handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. We never receive your payment details.
6. CONTACTING US
If you email us from the app or directly, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and delete it when it is no longer needed. We never share it.
7. SETTINGS AND CACHE
Your app settings, widget choices and cached wallpaper previews are stored on your device. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. "Clear cache" in Settings removes cached images.
8. CHILDREN
Glass Widgets is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.
9. SECURITY
Because your data never leaves your device (apart from the weather and download requests described above, which use encrypted HTTPS connections), there is no copy of it on our side to lose.
10. CHANGES
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
