1. WHO WE ARE

GlancePDF ("we", "our", or the "app") is a local PDF reader and PDF utility application for Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy describes how the app handles information on your device and what limited data may be processed when Google AdMob advertising and Firebase features are active.

By using GlancePDF, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

2. SUMMARY (PLAY STORE / DATA SAFETY ALIGNMENT)

- We do not operate our own cloud servers for your PDF files.

- We do not require an account or registration inside GlancePDF.

- Your PDF documents are processed and stored locally on your device.

- Core reading, My Library, All Files / device browsing, in-PDF search, private vault, recycle bin, bookmarks, reading progress, and most PDF tools work offline.

- Internet access is used for optional services: Google AdMob advertising (when enabled), crash reporting, performance monitoring, and remote configuration of app settings.

- Ads may be shown when advertising is enabled via Firebase Remote Config.

- We do not sell your personal information.

- We do not use Firebase Analytics.

3. HOW TO DELETE YOUR DATA / REQUEST DELETION (GOOGLE PLAY)

This section explains how users of GlancePDF can delete data or request deletion. The same steps apply whether you open this page from Google Play or from the in-app Privacy policy link.

GlancePDF does not create user accounts and does not store your PDF files on our own servers. Most of your data stays only on your device.

Steps to delete data on your device

  1. Open your device Settings → Apps → GlancePDF → Storage → Clear data / Clear storage.

     OR uninstall GlancePDF.

  2. Optionally, delete or permanently delete individual PDFs inside the app (including Recycle bin) before clearing storage.

  3. This removes app library copies, favorites, recycle bin entries, private-vault flags, bookmarks, reading progress, preferences, thumbnails, and temporary files stored by the app.

Steps to request deletion by email

  1. Send an email to: sajidkamal381@gmail.com

  2. Use subject line: GlancePDF data deletion request

  3. Include: your device type (Android/iOS), approximate app version if known, and what you want deleted.

  4. You may also open the app menu (drawer) → Contact us and send the same request.

  5. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law.

What is deleted

  - Local GlancePDF app data on your device when you clear storage or uninstall (as listed above).

  - Any information you previously emailed to us for support, when you ask us to delete that correspondence (we keep only what we must for legal or security reasons, if any).

What we do not keep on our servers

  - Your PDF document contents (we do not host them).

  - An account profile (GlancePDF has no signup).

What may be retained by third parties (Google)

  - Advertising, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and remote configuration data processed by Google (AdMob / Firebase) may be retained under Google's own policies and retention periods.

  - Purchase or subscription records (if you buy Premium through Google Play or the App Store) are handled by Google or Apple under their store policies—not on GlancePDF servers.

  - We do not control Google's or Apple's systems directly. Where appropriate, we will help with reasonable requests related to those services.

Advertising choices (when ads are live)

  - You can limit ad personalization in Google / device Ads settings.

  - Clearing app data or uninstalling stops further app use of local data; it does not automatically erase historical ad, crash, or performance records already held by Google.

4. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE (LOCAL ONLY)

The following may be stored in the app's private storage or locations you choose on your device. This data does not leave your device through GlancePDF except when you explicitly share/export it or when optional third-party services below apply.

PDF files and copies

Documents you import, create, edit, merge, split, compress, convert, or save from tools. App-owned copies may be stored in the app's library folder (My Library). Files may also remain in folders you open on the device when you use device-file browsing (All Files).

Library and organization metadata

File names, favorites, recycle bin entries, private-vault flags, page counts, last opened times, and similar organization data.

Reading progress and user bookmarks

Last-read page and bookmarks you create so you can resume reading.

In-document text search

Search runs locally against embedded text in the PDF. Search queries are not uploaded. Image-only / scanned pages without a text layer cannot be searched unless text exists in the file.

Recent device PDFs

A local quick-access list of PDFs you opened from device storage.

Private vault

Vault membership flags for selected PDFs. The vault password is stored as a salted hash (not plain text). We cannot recover a forgotten vault password.

Recycle bin

Soft-deleted library PDFs kept until you restore them or delete them forever. Permanent delete removes the app's copy from storage.

App preferences

Theme (light/dark/system), language, and similar settings.

Thumbnails and temporary files

Generated for faster browsing and while tools run (for example compress, export, image-to-PDF, manage pages). Temporary files may be cleared by the system or when you clear app storage.

PDF edits and tool output

Changes such as annotations, signatures, watermarks, page rotation/deletion, and tool results are written into PDF files or new files you create on the device.

Premium / purchase status (when available)

A local cache of whether Premium features are unlocked on this device (for example after a store subscription or a temporary rewarded unlock). GlancePDF does not create a separate login for Premium.

Delete local data

See section 3 (How to delete your data / request deletion).

5. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

- We do not upload your PDF document contents to our own servers.

- We do not create user profiles based on your documents.

- We do not require email signup inside the app for core features.

- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (see Children's Privacy).

- We do not use the app's camera, photos, or storage access to sell advertising based on your document contents.

- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

- We do not use Firebase Analytics.

6. DEVICE PERMISSIONS

Permissions are requested only when needed for a feature you use. You can deny or revoke them in system Settings; some features will then be unavailable. Denying a permission does not stop you from using other parts of the app (for example, you can still read library PDFs if you deny Camera).

Internet

Used when advertising is enabled, for crash reporting and performance monitoring in release builds, and for remote configuration of non-personal app settings (including whether ads are enabled and related limits).

Camera

Optional: capture or scan pages to create PDFs (Image-to-PDF / Scan tools). If you deny Camera, those capture features are unavailable; the rest of the app continues to work.

Photos / media / images

Optional: pick images for Image-to-PDF and related tools. If you deny photo access, gallery picking is unavailable until you enable it in Settings.

Storage / media documents / All files access (Android)

Used so you can browse, open, and manage PDF files stored on your device (for example All Files / device PDF scan). This is a core file-access feature of a PDF reader. On modern Android versions this may include READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_DOCUMENTS, and (when required for broad folder scanning) MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / "All files access".

We do not use All files access to collect unrelated personal files for advertising or to share them with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.

You may use the app with imported/picked files only if you prefer not to grant broad storage access. Adding a device PDF to My Library requires the app to be able to read that file; if access is blocked, the file is not copied and stays only on your device.

7. OFFLINE USE

My Library, viewing, in-PDF text search (when the PDF has embedded text), private vault, recycle bin, bookmarks, reading progress, and most PDF tools work without an internet connection.

A network connection is needed only when:

- Ads are enabled and shown;

- Remote configuration fetches non-personal settings;

- Crash reporting or performance monitoring sends diagnostic data (release builds); or

- You complete a store purchase / restore (when Premium is available through Google Play or the App Store).

8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES (GOOGLE / APPLE)

GlancePDF integrates limited Google services (and, when you purchase through the store, Apple or Google Play billing). We do not operate those services ourselves. Their processing is governed by their own policies in addition to this policy.

Google's general privacy information: https://policies.google.com/privacy

8.1 Advertising (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob)

GlancePDF uses Google AdMob to show ads when advertising is enabled through Firebase Remote Config.

When ads are live, Google's advertising services may collect and process data such as:

  - Advertising ID / device identifiers

  - IP address and approximate location derived from IP

  - Device and app information

  - Ad interaction and performance data

This data is used to serve, measure, and improve ads according to Google's advertising and privacy policies. You can limit ad personalization in your device or Google account settings (for example Google settings → Ads).

Ad formats may include:

  - Adaptive banner ads on the main home screen

  - Interstitial (full-screen) ads at a limited frequency after certain in-app actions, subject to remote configuration limits and cooldowns (not on every page turn while reading)

  - Optional rewarded ads that may temporarily unlock Premium tools for the current session only after you choose to watch; core PDF reading remains available without watching a rewarded ad

We do not use your PDF document contents to target ads. Where available, we use Google advertising controls to limit sensitive ad categories.

If you are in a region that requires consent for personalized ads, follow any in-app or system consent prompts and your device Ads settings.

8.2 Firebase (limited use)

Firebase may be used for the following purposes—and not for analytics tracking of your reading habits or document content:

  Crash reporting (Crashlytics)

In release builds, if the app crashes, crash logs, stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version may be sent so we can fix bugs. Collection is disabled in debug builds. PDF file contents are not intentionally attached to crash reports.

  Performance Monitoring

In release builds, performance metrics (for example app start, custom traces such as opening a PDF or running tools, and related device/app timing data) may be collected to improve reliability and speed. PDF document contents are not intentionally attached to performance traces.

  Remote Config

Fetches non-personal configuration values (for example whether ads are enabled, ad unit settings, and related display limits). No PDF document content is sent.

We do not use Firebase Analytics in this app.

8.3 Share, export, and Contact us (your choice)

If you share a PDF, export a file, open email, or contact support, those actions use your device's apps and networks under those apps' and carriers' own policies. We receive only what you choose to send to our contact email.

8.4 Premium purchases (when available)

If you subscribe to or restore GlancePDF Premium through Google Play or the App Store, payment and subscription status are processed by Google or Apple. GlancePDF may receive a purchase/entitlement status on your device so Premium features and ad-free use can be unlocked. We do not receive your full payment card details.

9. ADVERTISING PRACTICES

When advertising is live and enabled via Remote Config:

- Adaptive banner ads may appear on the home screen (above the bottom navigation).

- Interstitial ads may appear occasionally after certain tool or user actions, with frequency and cooldown limits.

- Rewarded ads may be offered as an optional way to unlock Premium tools for the current session when that feature is enabled. Watching a rewarded ad is optional; you may also use a store subscription when available.

- Where available, we block sensitive ad categories through Google's advertising controls.

Ads may be turned off or adjusted remotely via configuration without requiring you to share PDF content. We do not sell your personal information.

10. DATA SAFETY CATEGORIES (FOR GOOGLE PLAY)

For Google Play Data safety disclosure alignment, GlancePDF may involve:

Data collected by third parties (not stored on our servers):

Device or other IDs (for ads when live / crash and performance reporting, as applicable)

App activity / diagnostics (crash reporting and performance monitoring)

Approximate network information (for ads when live / Firebase configuration, as applicable)

Purchase history / subscription status (handled by Google Play or the App Store when you buy Premium)

Data processed on device only (not collected by us to a developer backend):

  Files and documents (your PDFs)

  App settings and preferences

Other in-app content you create (bookmarks, vault flags, recycle bin, tool outputs)

We do not sell personal information. Data shared with Google is used only for advertising (when live), crash diagnostics, performance monitoring, and app configuration as described above.

11. DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall.

Private vault: password is hashed with salt on device. If you forget the password, we cannot reset it; vaulted files may become inaccessible through the vault feature.

Temporary tool files should not be relied on as backups; keep copies of important PDFs elsewhere if needed.

Crash, performance, and ad-related data retention follows Google's policies for the services described above. Store purchase records follow Google Play / App Store policies. We use industry-standard SDKs, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

12. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on where you live (including GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict certain personal data, and to opt out of sale/sharing where those concepts apply.

Because GlancePDF does not host your PDFs on our servers:

- Follow section 3 to delete on-device data or request deletion by email; or

- Uninstall the app / clear storage to remove local app data.

For advertising choices, use Google ad settings and device ad controls when ads are live.

For Premium subscriptions, manage or cancel renewals in Google Play or the App Store account settings on your device.

Contact us (section 16) for privacy requests. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law.

13. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

GlancePDF is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app's third-party services, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

The app is intended as a general productivity utility. Families should supervise device use by minors as appropriate.

14. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Third-party services (Google, and Apple when you use App Store purchases) may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those transfers are subject to their terms and safeguards.

15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the app store listing or in-app notice when appropriate.
