Gladlex ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Gladlex mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Gladlex on iPhone and iPad.
By downloading or using Gladlex, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Gladlex is an English vocabulary learning app. We designed Gladlex to keep your learning data on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Gladlex does not:
Require registration, login, or a password
Collect your name, email address, or phone number through the App
Use third-party advertising networks
Use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
Track you across other companies’ apps or websites
Collect precise location data
Access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone
Upload your learning progress to our servers
3. Information Stored on Your Device
Gladlex stores the following information locally on your device using on-device storage (SwiftData):
Learning progress for vocabulary words
Saved and favorite words
Daily goals, streaks, and review history
App settings and preferences (such as theme, reminder time, and Word Match settings)
Achievement and activity records
Subscription-related app state needed to unlock Premium features
This information is used only to provide App functionality, such as learning sessions, progress tracking, saved words, streaks, and Premium features.
The English dictionary content (definitions, examples, and related word data) is bundled with the App and does not require an internet connection to use.
Daily Reminders (Notifications)
If you choose to enable daily reminders, Gladlex will ask for permission to send local notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device to help you maintain your learning habit.

Notification content is generated locally
We do not send notification data to our servers
Text-to-Speech (Pronunciation)
When you tap to hear a word pronounced, Gladlex uses your device’s built-in text-to-speech system (Apple AVSpeechSynthesizer). Word pronunciation is processed on your device and is not sent to us.
You may export your learning progress from the Profile screen. Export is initiated by you and shared using your device’s standard sharing options. We do not receive exported data unless you choose to send it to us (for example, by email).
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Gladlex offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called Gladlex Premium.
Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID
We do not receive or store your payment card or billing details
Apple may provide us with subscription status information needed to unlock Premium features in the App
Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through your Apple ID account settings

6. Information We Receive When You Contact Us

7. How We Use Information
We use information as follows:
On-device data: to operate App features and personalize your learning experience on your device
Subscription status: to provide free or Premium functionality
Support emails: to answer questions and resolve issues
We do not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share information only in these limited cases:
With Apple: when you make or manage a subscription through the App Store
When required by law: if we are legally required to disclose information
When you choose to share: for example, when you use the export or share feature on your device
We do not share on-device learning data with third parties for marketing purposes.
On-device data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App
Support emails are kept only as long as needed to respond to your request and maintain support records
Subscription records are managed by Apple according to Apple’s policies
If you delete Gladlex from your device, locally stored learning data is generally removed with the App, subject to iOS system behavior and any device backups you maintain.
10. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
Use Gladlex without creating an account
Decline notification permission or turn off reminders in the App
Export your learning progress from the Profile screen
Delete locally stored data by deleting the App from your device
Manage or cancel Premium subscriptions through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device

Gladlex is intended for general audiences, including students and professionals. Dictionary content is designed to be child-safe.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App. Because Gladlex does not require account creation and does not collect personal information through normal App use, children can use the App without providing personal data to us.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us by email, please contact us and we will delete it.
We take reasonable steps to protect information within our control. Learning data is stored locally on your device using iOS security features. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure and maintaining backups of exported data if you choose to export your progress.
Gladlex is available internationally through the App Store. If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed according to this Privacy Policy and applicable local laws.
If you contact us by email, your message may be processed in the country where we operate.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the App or on our support page. Your continued use of Gladlex after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
