1. INTRODUCTION & CORE PRIVACY COMMITMENT
Gladiatus Hub ("the Extension") is an independent companion tool designed to assist players of the browser game Gladiatus with calculators, recipe references, combat simulations, and cooldown notifications.
We are firmly committed to user privacy. The extension operates entirely client-side within your browser. We do NOT collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal data, gameplay logs, account passwords, or browsing history.
2. WHAT DATA IS ACCESSED AND STORED
• Character & Game Values: When you visit the official Gladiatus domain (*://*.gladiatus.gameforge.com/*), the extension reads basic gameplay parameters displayed in your active game header (such as character name, level, gold on hand, rubies, health percentage, and expedition points). This information is cached exclusively in your browser's local storage (`chrome.storage.local`) so that the extension popup can display live values and budget calculations.
• User Settings & Preferences: Your custom preferences (such as guild discount percentage, Centurio toggle, active timer timestamps, and HUD toggles) are stored locally in your browser.
• Zero Data Collection: We do not operate external servers, databases, or analytics services. No telemetry, IP tracking, fingerprinting, or advertising code is included.
3. EXPLANATION OF PERMISSIONS REQUESTED
To function as intended, Gladiatus Hub requests the following minimal browser permissions:
• "storage":
Purpose: Allows the extension to save your preferences, active timers, and character stats locally on your computer. Without this permission, your calculator inputs and countdowns would reset every time the popup is closed.
• "alarms":
Purpose: Enables reliable background countdown timing for game activities (such as the 15-minute arena cooldown and auction house reminders) and allows the extension to display status badges on the toolbar icon. The `alarms` API runs efficiently in the background without draining system memory or CPU.
• Host Permission ("*://*.gladiatus.gameforge.com/*"):
Purpose: Allows the content script to run exclusively on official Gladiatus game pages to provide the optional top quick-navigation bar, display health safety warnings, and synchronize basic player values. The extension cannot run on or access any other websites.
4. ARE ALL THESE PERMISSIONS NECESSARY?
YES. Exactly these three permissions are required, and nothing more. Gladiatus Hub was deliberately engineered according to Google's Principle of Least Privilege:
• NO broad domain permissions: We DO NOT request `<all_urls>` or `*://*/*`. The extension is strictly sandboxed to `*.gladiatus.gameforge.com`.
• NO `webRequest` or `webRequestBlocking`: We do not intercept or modify network requests.
• NO `cookies`: We do not read or modify your authentication cookies or session tokens.
• NO `tabs` permission: We do not track or monitor your browsing activity across other tabs.
• NO `management` or `identity` permissions: We do not access your Google account or installed extensions.
By requesting only the absolute minimum necessary permissions, the extension guarantees user safety and complies with all Chrome Web Store developer requirements.
5. THIRD-PARTY DISCLOSURE
Gladiatus Hub does not sell, trade, or transfer any information to outside parties. No third-party trackers, Google Analytics, or external CDNs are utilized.
