Okay, I'll admit it. I have a problem. I have stinky feet. It got so bad that at one point in time my wife would not want to be in the same room with me unless I had something covering them up like socks or shoes. I hated wearing socks to bed, but it was the only way my wife would stay in the same room with me.
At one point in time, my elementary-school-aged daughter complained to her friends that her daddy's feet were "stanky." I think that was the ultimate point of embarrassment for me and was when I decided that I would search and search until I found something that would really work for me. I'll show you some of the methods that I have tried before, and finally I'll show you the only thing that really helped me and my stinky feet.
Baby powder was probably the worst method that I tried. It was messy no matter how hard I tried to keep it in my shoe. It also was only a temporary cover-up that lasted only a few hours. The worst part about it was that everyone in the gym locker room would know I was using it because of both the smell and the powder that was left in my shoe and on my socks.
The smell of the baby powder wasn’t bad (it was actually pretty good), but it didn’t seem to last that long. By the end of the day when I came home from work and the gym and even after I took a shower, my wife was back to insisting that I wear socks to bed. The baby powder trick only lasted about two weeks before I gave up on it.
Sneaker balls were a little bit better than the baby powder method. They did seem to remove some of the bad odor and they lasted for a bit longer than the baby powder did. Two sneaker balls probably lasted me for about a month. However, they only seemed to get rid of some of the bad odor, not all of it.
The other bad thing about the sneaker balls is that they only killed the odor in my shoes, not the odor on my feet. Killing the odor in my shoes helped a little bit; however, I was still banned from going sans socks around the house. The other thing is that I had to remember to take the sneaker balls out every time I put the shoes on. So, basically after a day of wearing the shoes, the odor comes back until the balls go back in.
