2. PRIVACY SUMMARY
Golden Journey is an offline goal and task tracker. It does not require or support user accounts. The app does not contain advertising, analytics, social tracking, subscriptions, cloud synchronization, or developer-operated servers. The app does not request the Android INTERNET permission.
Information entered into Golden Journey is processed and stored locally on the user's device. The Developer does not receive, collect, sell, rent, or share that information.
3. INFORMATION PROCESSED ON THE DEVICE
Golden Journey processes the following information only to provide features requested by the user:
- Journey content: route names, descriptions, starting points, destinations, target dates, station names, station descriptions, and completion status.
- Task content: task titles, descriptions, dates, times, priorities, estimated duration, sorting order, and completion status.
- Progress information: route progress, unlocked stations, daily completion values, activity history, and current or best streaks calculated from local journey data.
- App preferences: theme selection, animation preference, onboarding status, reminder preference, and reminder time.
- Local reminder data: task titles and scheduled times needed by Android's local scheduling and notification components.
Users decide what information to enter. Golden Journey is not intended for storing highly sensitive information such as passwords, payment card numbers, government identifiers, health records, or confidential third-party data.
4. HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Locally stored information is used only to:
- create, display, edit, organize, and delete routes, stations, and tasks;
- calculate progress, streaks, station availability, and activity summaries;
- display the user's current journey and next action;
- schedule optional on-device reminders;
- apply the user's appearance and accessibility preferences; and
- create or restore a JSON backup when the user explicitly requests it.
The Developer does not use this information for advertising, profiling, marketing, eligibility decisions, automated decision-making, or cross-app tracking.
5. DATA COLLECTION, TRANSMISSION, AND SHARING
Golden Journey does not transmit user content or device data to the Developer or to third parties. It does not collect IP addresses, advertising identifiers, persistent device identifiers, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, media, microphone data, camera data, browsing activity, financial information, or authentication credentials.
The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or social-network SDKs. Its Android libraries support local interface, database, preferences, and background scheduling functions.
If the app is obtained through Google Play, Google may independently process download, purchase-account, device, security, or diagnostic information under Google's own terms and privacy policies. Golden Journey does not receive that information through the app.
6. ANDROID PERMISSIONS AND SYSTEM FEATURES
Golden Journey may use the following Android permissions or system features:
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): requested only when the user enables reminders on supported Android versions. The permission is optional. If denied, the rest of the app remains available.
- Boot completion (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): used by Android's local background-work infrastructure to maintain eligible on-device reminder scheduling after a restart or app update. It is not used to collect information or communicate with a server.
- Android system file picker: used when the user chooses to export or import a JSON backup. Golden Journey receives access only to the file or location selected by the user; it does not scan unrelated files.
7. LOCAL STORAGE AND BACKUPS
Journey data is stored in an app-private Room database. Preferences are stored in Android DataStore. These locations are protected by the Android application sandbox and are normally inaccessible to other apps unless the device operating system has been compromised or the user has granted exceptional system-level access.
Golden Journey excludes its private database and preferences from Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup. The app does not create automatic cloud backups.
When a user exports a JSON backup, the user chooses the destination through Android's system file picker. That destination may be local storage or a third-party storage provider selected by the user. Once exported, the copy is outside Golden Journey's private storage and is governed by the user's chosen provider, device settings, and security practices. Users are responsible for protecting and deleting exported copies.
8. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Journey data remains on the device until the user deletes individual content, uses Settings > Delete all journey data, clears the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalls the app.
"Delete all journey data" removes locally stored routes and their associated stations, tasks, and progress records. App preferences may remain until the user clears app storage or uninstalls the app. Exported JSON backups are not deleted automatically because they are stored in a location chosen by the user.
Golden Journey has no user accounts and the Developer holds no server-side user database. Account-deletion procedures therefore do not apply. Because the Developer does not possess the user's local data, deletion is performed directly on the device using the controls described above.
9. SECURITY
Golden Journey reduces privacy risk by keeping data on the device and avoiding network transmission. The app relies on Android's application sandbox and device security controls. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and security may also depend on the user's device lock, operating-system updates, installed software, backup destination, and physical control of the device.
Users should keep Android updated, use a secure screen lock, avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information, and protect any exported JSON backup.
10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Golden Journey is a general-purpose productivity application and is not directed specifically to children under 13 or to any higher minimum age required by local law. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any user because it does not transmit user information to the Developer.
Parents or guardians should supervise a child's device use and ensure that content entered into the app is appropriate.
11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Golden Journey does not transfer user content to the Developer or to developer-operated infrastructure in any country. A user-selected external storage provider may process an exported backup in other jurisdictions under that provider's terms and privacy policy.
12. USER CHOICES AND CONTROLS
Users can:
- choose what information to enter;
- edit or delete routes and tasks;
- delete all journey data from Settings;
- enable or disable local reminders;
- grant or deny notification permission through Android;
- export a backup to a selected location;
- delete exported backups from that location; and
- clear all app storage or uninstall the app through Android.
13. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
Golden Journey does not display third-party advertisements and does not provide embedded web content or third-party account sign-in. A storage provider appears only if the user selects it through Android's system file picker. The provider's own terms and privacy practices apply to files stored there.
14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when Golden Journey's features, legal obligations, or data practices change. The revised policy will show a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how personal or sensitive information is handled, we will provide any notice or consent required by applicable law and Google Play policy before the new practice takes effect.
