I am an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Palermo, where I am also a member of the scientific committee of the Sustanability and Ecological Transition Centre, and a Research Fellow at the International Centre for Economic Analysis, a non-profit Research Institute at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada.
Since 2023, I am national Co-PI of two national funded projects:
1) Assessing Public Policy Effectiveness in Minimising Local Impacts with Climate-related Adaptation Expenditures (APPLICATE) accepted for public funding by the PRIN 2022 Call.
2) Recovering the agrifood system from Shocks Induced by Labour Inputs, ENergy, Climate Extremes (RESILIENCE) accepted for public funding by the PRIN-PNRR Call.

My research uses spatial approaches to investigate questions on sustainability in the field of agriculture/environment, development, and health economics.
Besides academic work, I have served as consultant to multiple international organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and the World Bank.
