The Forest Fire Reporting Mobile Application (“App”) is a secure, field-based digital tool developed by the Forest GIS Lab of the Punjab Forest Department to enable authorized personnel to report, document, and monitor forest fires using mobile devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your data when you use the App.
We collect the following categories of information when you use the App:

Name, designation, and organizational unit
Login credentials (securely stored)
Authentication tokens
2.2 Fire Incident Data
Reporter identity and timestamp
Fire details (type, accessibility, temperature, losses, FIR number)
Location data (latitude/longitude, KML uploads, map images)
2.3 Media
Photos taken during and after fire incidents
Geotagged images
PDF reports containing compiled incident data
2.4 Action Logs
Timestamps of each response action
Notes or descriptions of actions performed (e.g., team formation, coordination)
The information collected is used for the following purposes:
To allow secure and authorized access to the application
To document wildfire incidents accurately and consistently
To enable real-time geospatial monitoring and response coordination
To generate official PDF reports for internal review and record-keeping
To support post-incident analysis and operational improvement
We do not sell or share your personal or incident data with third parties except:
Within the Punjab Forest Department for official and operational use
With authorized government authorities when legally required for investigation or emergency response
