1.0 GETTING STARTED

1.1 WHAT IS GIRLFRIEND CLOCK

1.1.1 Girlfriend Clock is an AI-powered alarm app that wakes you up with personalized voice messages from your virtual AI girlfriend. Choose from different personalities, tones, and topics to create the perfect wake-up experience.

1.2 FIRST LAUNCH

1.2.1 When you first open the app:

(a) Welcome screens introduce you to the app's features.

(b) Enter your name for personalized messages.

(d) Create your first alarm using the plus button.

1.3 PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

1.3.1 Notifications (Required)

This permission is required to deliver your alarms on time. Without notification permission, alarms cannot function.

1.3.2 Location (Optional)

This permission enables the weather feature, which includes current weather information in your AI messages. Your location is used momentarily and is not stored.

1.3.3 Calendar (Optional)

This permission enables the schedule feature, which includes your upcoming calendar events in your AI messages. Only event titles and times are accessed; notes and other details are not read.

2.0 CREATING ALARMS

2.1 HOW TO CREATE AN ALARM

2.1.1 Follow these steps to create a new alarm:

(a) Tap the plus button on the home screen.

(b) Choose Alarm or Reminder at the top.

(d) Optionally set repeat days (Weekdays, Weekends, or specific days).

(e) Add an optional label (maximum 30 characters).

(f) Choose AI Voice or Music Only mode.

(g) Customize your settings based on your chosen mode.

(h) Tap Create Alarm to save.

2.2 ALARMS VERSUS REMINDERS

2.2.1 Alarm: A recurring wake-up that can repeat on specific days of the week. Best for daily wake-up routines.

2.2.2 Reminder: A one-time notification for a specific date and time. Best for appointments or tasks.

2.3 REPEAT OPTIONS

2.3.1 When creating or editing an alarm, you can choose from:

(a) Weekdays: Monday through Friday.

(b) Weekends: Saturday and Sunday.

(d) Custom: Select specific individual days using the day buttons.

2.4 MANAGING YOUR ALARMS

2.4.1 Turn Off an Alarm

Tap the toggle switch on the alarm card. For one-time alarms, this confirms deletion. For repeating alarms, you can choose to skip the next occurrence or turn off completely.

2.4.2 Edit an Alarm

Tap the alarm card to open its details. Make your changes and tap Save.

2.4.3 Delete an Alarm

Open the alarm details, scroll down, and tap Delete Alarm. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

3.1 HOW AI VOICE WORKS

3.1.1 AI Voice generates unique, personalized wake-up messages based on:

(a) Your chosen girlfriend persona.

3.4.3 Long: 6-8 sentences, approximately 120-160 words. Best for leisurely mornings when you want more content.

3.5 INCLUDING WEATHER

3.5.1 Enable Include Weather to have your AI girlfriend mention the current weather conditions.

3.5.2 This feature requires location permission to be granted.

3.5.3 Weather is fetched fresh before each alarm for accuracy.

3.5.4 The weather is naturally integrated into the message, for example: "It's a beautiful 72 degrees and sunny today, perfect for that smile of yours."

3.6 INCLUDING SCHEDULE

3.6.1 Enable Include Schedule to have your AI girlfriend mention your upcoming calendar events.

3.6.2 This feature requires calendar permission to be granted.

3.6.3 Shows events scheduled for the alarm day starting from the alarm time.

3.6.4 Events are naturally integrated, for example: "I see you have a meeting at 9. You're going to do great, babe."

4.0 MUSIC FEATURES

4.1 MUSIC ONLY MODE

4.1.1 If you prefer not to have voice messages, use Music Only mode.

4.1.2 This feature is available to all users, both free and premium.

4.1.3 Free users can choose from 10 music tracks (first track of each style).

4.1.4 Premium users can choose from all 24 music tracks across 10 different styles.

4.3.3 Your AI girlfriend's voice message then plays at full volume over the music.

4.3.4 This creates an immersive, cinema-like audio experience.

4.3.5 Free users can use any of the 10 free music tracks. Premium users can use all 24 tracks.

4.4 PREVIEWING MUSIC

4.4.1 In the music picker, tap any track to preview it.

4.4.2 All users can preview all tracks, including premium tracks marked with a golden crown icon.

4.4.3 Tap again to stop the preview.

4.4.4 Select your favorite track for your alarm.

4.4.5 Free users can save alarms with any of the 10 free tracks. Premium users can save alarms with all 24 tracks.

5.0 CUSTOM GIRLFRIENDS

5.1 DEFAULT GIRLFRIEND

5.1.1 Your starting girlfriend is Emma, who is sweet, caring, and always knows the right words to make you smile.

5.2 CREATING A CUSTOM GIRLFRIEND

5.2.1 To create a custom girlfriend:

(a) Go to Settings, then tap Girlfriend, or

(b) When creating an alarm, tap the girlfriend selector and choose Create New.

5.2.2 Enter a name for your girlfriend.

5.2.3 Choose an avatar icon from options like heart, star, crown, and others.

5.2.4 Select an accent color for the avatar.

5.2.5 Pick a voice from 8 available voice options.

5.2.6 Optionally add a personality description.

5.2.7 Tap Save to create the girlfriend.

5.3 VOICE OPTIONS

5.3.1 Choose from 8 different voice styles with varying tones:

(a) Warm and soothing voices.

(b) Playful and energetic voices.

(d) Caring and gentle voices.

5.4 MANAGING GIRLFRIENDS

5.4.1 Edit: Tap a girlfriend in Settings to modify their details.

5.4.2 Delete: Swipe left or tap delete. Note that you cannot delete the default girlfriend Emma.

5.4.3 Set Default: Select which girlfriend appears on new alarms by default.

6.0 MESSAGE HISTORY

6.1 ACCESSING MESSAGE HISTORY

6.1.1 Tap the clock icon in the top navigation bar on the home screen.

6.2 WHAT IS SAVED

6.2.1 Each saved message includes:

(a) Girlfriend name and avatar.

(b) Generated message text.

(d) Music settings if background music was enabled.

(e) Date the message was generated.

6.3 PLAYING MESSAGES

6.3.1 Tap the play button on any message card to listen.

6.3.2 If background music was enabled for that alarm, it plays with the voice.

6.3.3 Tap again to stop playback.

6.4 SHARING MESSAGES

6.4.1 Tap the share icon on a message to share it.

6.4.2 Share Text: Shares the message text with girlfriend name and date.

6.4.3 Share Audio: Shares the audio file in MP3 format with a friendly filename.

6.4.4 Share Text and Audio: Shares both the text and audio file together.

6.5 DELETING MESSAGES

6.5.1 Delete Single Message: Swipe left on the message and tap Delete.

6.5.2 Delete All Messages: Tap the menu icon, select Clear All, and confirm.

6.6 AUTO-SAVE SETTINGS

6.6.1 Go to Settings, then Alarm Settings, then Save Message History.

6.6.2 When enabled, messages automatically save when alarms play.

6.6.3 When disabled, messages play but are not saved to history.

6.6.4 Note that Music Only alarms do not save to history as there is no voice message.

7.3 FREE TRIAL

7.3.1 New users can try Premium free for 7 days.

7.4 SUBSCRIBING

7.4.1 Method 1: Tap AI Voice when creating an alarm and follow the prompts.

7.5 MANAGING YOUR SUBSCRIPTION

7.5.1 To change or cancel your subscription:

(d) Select Girlfriend Clock.

(e) Choose a new plan or tap Cancel Subscription.

7.5.2 Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

7.6 RESTORING PURCHASES

7.6.1 If you previously subscribed and need to restore:

(a) Go to Settings in the app.

(b) Tap Subscription.

(d) Your subscription will be restored if active on your Apple ID.

8.0 SETTINGS AND PREFERENCES

8.1 YOUR NAME

8.1.1 Go to Settings, then Account, then Your Name.

8.1.2 Enter the name you want your AI girlfriend to call you.

8.1.3 This name is used in personalized messages like "Good morning, Sarah!"

8.2 TIME FORMAT

8.2.1 Go to Settings, then Alarm Settings, then Time Format.

8.2.2 12-hour: Displays time with AM and PM, for example 9:30 PM.

8.2.3 24-hour: Displays military time, for example 21:30.

8.3 DEFAULT MUSIC

8.3.1 Go to Settings, then Alarm Settings, then Ringing Tone Music.

8.3.2 Set the default music track for new alarms.

8.3.3 This can be overridden on a per-alarm basis.

8.4 BACKGROUND THEMES

8.4.1 Tap the sun or moon icon on the home screen.

8.5 VOLUME CONTROL

8.5.1 Alarm volume is controlled by your device's Ringer and Alerts volume.

8.5.2 To adjust, go to your device Settings app, then Sounds and Haptics.

8.5.3 Adjust the Ringer and Alerts slider to control alarm volume.

9.0 TROUBLESHOOTING

9.1 ALARM DID NOT RING

9.1.1 Check Notification Permission

Go to your device Settings app, then Notifications, then Girlfriend Clock. Ensure notifications are enabled with Allow Notifications turned on.

9.1.2 Check Ringer Volume

Go to your device Settings app, then Sounds and Haptics. Ensure the Ringer and Alerts slider is turned up.

9.1.3 Check Alarm Status

On the home screen, verify the alarm toggle is on (green). If the toggle is off (gray), the alarm will not ring.

9.1.4 Check Do Not Disturb

Ensure Focus mode or Do Not Disturb is not silencing notifications. If enabled, add Girlfriend Clock as an allowed app or disable the mode before bed.

9.1.5 Check Time Setting

Open the alarm details and verify the time is set correctly for when you want to wake up.

9.2 WEATHER NOT WORKING

9.2.1 Check Location Permission

Go to your device Settings app, then Privacy and Security, then Location Services, then Girlfriend Clock. Set to While Using the App.

9.2.2 Check Weather Toggle

Open your alarm details and ensure Include Weather is turned on.

9.2.3 Check Location Services

Go to your device Settings app, then Privacy and Security, then Location Services. Ensure the main Location Services toggle is on.

9.3 CALENDAR NOT WORKING

9.3.1 Check Calendar Permission

Go to your device Settings app, then Privacy and Security, then Calendars, then Girlfriend Clock. Ensure access is granted.

9.3.2 Check Calendar Toggle

Open your alarm details and ensure Include Schedule is turned on.

9.3.3 Check Events Exist

Verify you have events in your calendar for the alarm day. The app can only mention events that exist.

9.4 MESSAGES NOT SAVING

9.4.1 Check Auto-Save Setting

Go to Settings in the app, then Alarm Settings, then Save Message History. Ensure this toggle is on.

9.4.2 Check Alarm Mode

Music-only alarms do not generate voice messages and therefore have nothing to save. Use AI Voice mode to create saveable messages.

9.4.3 Let Alarm Play

Messages save when the alarm actually plays, not when it is created. Ensure the alarm rings and you interact with the wake-up screen.

9.5 PREMIUM NOT RECOGNIZED

9.5.1 Restore Purchases

Go to Settings in the app, then Subscription, then tap Restore Purchases. This syncs your subscription status with Apple.

9.5.2 Check Apple ID

Ensure you are signed into the same Apple ID that was used to purchase the subscription.

9.5.3 Check Subscription Status

Go to your device Settings app, then tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Verify that Girlfriend Clock subscription shows as active.

9.6 APP CRASHES OR FREEZES

9.6.1 Force Close and Reopen

Swipe up from the bottom of your screen (or double-click the home button on older devices). Find Girlfriend Clock in the app switcher and swipe it up to close. Reopen the app.

9.6.2 Restart Your Device

Turn your device off completely and turn it back on. This clears temporary issues.

9.6.3 Reinstall the App

Delete Girlfriend Clock and reinstall from the App Store. Note that this will delete your local data including alarms, custom girlfriends, and message history. Your subscription will be preserved through your Apple ID.

9.6.4 Contact Support

If issues persist, email girlfriendclock.support@newversion.tech with details about your device model, iOS version, and the problem.

9.7 AUDIO ISSUES

9.7.1 No Sound Playing

(a) Check that ringer volume is up in device Settings.

(b) Check that the physical mute switch (if present) is not engaged.

9.7.2 Audio Cuts Off

(a) Ensure the app has permission to play audio.

(b) Close other apps that might be using audio.

9.8 PREMIUM MUSIC TRACKS

9.8.1 Cannot Save Alarm with Premium Music

If you selected a music track marked with a golden crown icon and cannot save the alarm, you are on the free plan. Premium music tracks require a Premium subscription.

9.8.2 Previewing Premium Music

All users can preview premium music tracks by tapping them in the music picker. However, only Premium subscribers can save alarms using these tracks.

9.8.3 Free Music Tracks

Free users can use the first track of each style (10 tracks total): Gentle Morning, Midnight Serenade, Twilight Whispers, Glass Door, Interstellar Dreams, Romantic Morning, Cozy Warmth, Cheerful Delight, Rise and Shine, and New Day Awaits.

10.1 GENERAL QUESTIONS

10.1.1 Is Girlfriend Clock free?

The basic app is free with music-only alarms using 10 free music tracks. AI Voice messages, all 24 music tracks, and advanced features require a Premium subscription.

10.1.2 What age is this app for?

Girlfriend Clock is rated 17+ due to romantic and suggestive content.

10.1.3 Does this work on iPad?

Yes. Girlfriend Clock works on all iOS devices including iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.

10.1.4 Is my data backed up?

No. All data is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, your alarms, custom girlfriends, and message history will be permanently deleted. Your subscription remains tied to your Apple ID and can be restored.

10.2 ALARM QUESTIONS

10.2.1 How many alarms can I create?

Unlimited alarms for both free and Premium users.

10.2.2 Can I set different girlfriends for different alarms?

Yes. Each alarm can have its own girlfriend persona selected.

10.2.3 Why did my alarm not ring?

Check notification permission, ringer volume, and Do Not Disturb settings. See Section 9.1 for detailed troubleshooting steps.

10.2.4 Can I snooze alarms?

Yes. Tap the snooze button on the wake-up screen. The default snooze duration is 5 minutes.

10.3 AI VOICE QUESTIONS

10.3.1 Are the messages different every time?

Yes. Each message is uniquely generated by AI. Even with the same settings, messages will vary each time.

10.3.2 Can I hear the message before the alarm?

Messages are generated shortly before the alarm triggers. You can replay saved messages in Message History after they have been generated and played.

10.3.3 What if I do not like a message?

Simply delete it from Message History. The next alarm will generate a fresh message with new content.

10.3.4 How does weather integration work?

The app fetches current weather approximately 5 minutes before your alarm and naturally incorporates it into the AI-generated message.

10.4 SUBSCRIPTION QUESTIONS

10.4.1 Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel anytime through your device Settings app, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions. You will retain access until the end of your billing period.

10.4.2 How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly.

10.4.3 What happens when my subscription ends?

You will still have access to music-only alarms with 10 free music tracks and basic features. AI Voice alarms and premium music tracks will stop working until you resubscribe. Any alarms using premium music will need to be changed to free music tracks.

10.4.4 Is there a family plan?

Currently, subscriptions are individual only. Family sharing is not available.

10.4.5 Which music tracks can I use for free?

Free users can use 10 music tracks (the first track of each style). These are: Gentle Morning (Calm), Midnight Serenade (Jazz), Twilight Whispers (Lo-Fi), Glass Door (Meditation), Interstellar Dreams (Space), Romantic Morning (Romantic), Cozy Warmth (Cozy), Cheerful Delight (Playful), Rise and Shine (Energetic), and New Day Awaits (Inspiring).

10.4.6 Can I preview premium music tracks before subscribing?

Yes. All users can tap and preview any music track, including premium tracks marked with a golden crown icon. This lets you try before you buy to find your favorite tracks.

10.5 PRIVACY QUESTIONS

10.5.1 What data do you collect?

We collect minimal data for app functionality. Your name, alarm settings, and custom girlfriends are stored locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

10.5.2 Is my location tracked?

No. Location is only used momentarily to fetch weather information and is never stored on our servers.

10.5.3 Are my calendar events stored?

No. Calendar events are read only when generating a message and are never stored on our servers or transmitted elsewhere.
