Born in Northern Italy, Giovanni obtained an Integrated Master of Arts in Law with cum laude distinction from Bocconi University in 2023, defending a thesis on the conversion of shares into different classes. At the same time, he obtained an LL.M. in Cross-Border Business and Finance Law from Singapore Management University, with full-tuition waiver, earning the Dean’s List Award. While in Southeast Asia, he also worked as a research assistant on comparative law matters. In September 2025, after working as an Academic Fellow at Bocconi, he joined the Ph.D. in Legal Studies, Business and Social Law curriculum.
His research interests lie in the IUS/04 Scientific Sector, focusing on corporate governance structures, the protection of minority shareholders, and the intersection between corporate and antitrust law. He has written on the validity of shareholders’ agreements and on the connections between financial regulation, AI law, and competition law, and is developing further research on the role and incentives of minorities in joint-stock companies.
Giovanni has lived in Italy, Australia and Singapore, and enjoys wandering through surrealist art exhibitions in his free time. He is always eager to meet new people and to learn something unexpected every day.
