Fueled by curiosity, kept sane by irony.
Computer science wasn’t my original plan, but being a science junkie made it happen. When I’m not chasing curiosities, I’m probably chasing good food, finding calm among animals, collecting boarding passes, or passing as someone who plays tennis. Through it all, I remain serenely godless.
I was born in Treviso, Italy, and spent too many years in the timber industry before realizing academia was a better match. Since then, I’ve collected a bachelor’s, a master’s, and eventually a Ph.D. in Computer Science, all at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Today, I work there as a non-tenured assistant professor (RTDa). My research lives at the crossroads of Structural Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Network Science, NLP, and Computer Vision.
