I took an assortment of the activities in the Brock & Hundley book and created my own collection of Google based assignments (and answer keys where appropriate). One for each week around the topics in the book in applications such as: Questions, Forms, Videos, Drawings, SMART activities and more.

Rationale
In an effort to offer opportunities for growth and self discovery (as well as extra credit for those interested and in need) I’m putting together this topic and activities for ENG 12 classes this Fall semester of 2020 & Spring semester of 2021.
Many of you expressed interest in help with motivation, time management and other topics after our first month of school.
Developing a growth mindset and related skills can, I believe, help with all of these areas and instead of mandating it as one more thing you HAVE to do, I’m putting it out there as an opportunity. When you have time (during this class or others), when you see the activity go live and you’re interested in it during the month it’s live, DO IT.
All activities are taken from the book The Growth Mindset Coach: A Teacher’s Month-by-Month Handbook for Empowering Students to Achieve by Brock & Hundley.

Procedure
All activities are labeled (symbol & title) by month.
Activities (Drawing, Form, Slides, Docs, etc) will roll out weekly during the month and will be due on the last calendar day of that month.
They are labeled in Google Classroom as “Ungraded” so they will not show up as missing points. They will be recorded in PowerSchool as Extra Credit at the end of each month.
You are welcome to do any or all of these enrichment activities during the month they are designated for. You will NOT be given points in November (for example) for completing activities assigned in September. That’s not the point.
