We learned a lot about zebras on safari. First of all, why do zebras shake their heads when they walk? The answer is that they have bacteria in their nose. When it’s hot out, it heats up and makes their noses itchy. That’s why they nod their heads, to get it out. Zebra’s also have enemies, which are lions. We noticed that the zebras didn’t run away when the lions came to the watering hole. Our guide told us that they want to know where their enemies are. For example, I saw that there was a pack of zebras and a bunch of zebras were standing around one that was laying down. This is because zebras can’t get up fast enough to get away from their enemies. I think that the zebras standing around can warn the one lying down in case their enemy strikes. Overall, zebras are really cool animals.
