Here's a checklist to help you prepare what to bring to your next outdoor archery event.
Archers:
Bring a good attitude.
Bring all your shooting equipment and any backup items you may need, including extra arrow, nocks, fletchings, release, finger tab, etc. Make sure you have 2 sharpened pencils, 1 black pen, 1 black sharpie, 1 silver sharpie.
Pack healthy snacks and drinks. Bring a small cooler to keep your drinks cold.
Bring sunscreen and any other weather related accessories that may be necessary such as a hat, cooling towel, sunglasses, rain jacket, gloves etc. An umbrella works well during hot summer days by blocking the sun and by keeping you dry when its raining.
A chair with a built in shade and cup holder would be preferrable as sitting space between archers can be tight.
Optics such as a small binocular or spotting scope. A laser range finder is also a great tool to help you determine how to set your sights.
A small portable allen wrench set is a must have for every quiver.
Parents and Spectators:
A good attitude.
A shade canopy and chairs.
A small portable table is not necessary but is a nice to have if you need a table to eat on. It also acts as a work table just in case equipment repairs have to be made.
Food may or may not be provided. Best thing to do is bring a cooler with your favorite ready to eat food and beverages. I would reserve the BBQ for after the event has ended as the smoke generated may be bothersome to those competing.
Optics such as a spotting scope and/or binoculars will help you keep track of what's going on.
Alcohol, smoking, and vaping are usually not allowed on the archery range.
