I know this is commonly posted about, but the answers change very often. I used to use onlinevideoconverter, but recently it seems much less safe. I get more popups etc. Which sites do you reccomend. I get really paranoid about viruses.

I am sure that there maybe a few more clean download sites. If you know of any other safe software download sites, please do share them with us in the comments, for the benefit of others. I am open to updating this list of safe software download sites.

Free Safe Youtube Downloader

A Possibly Unsafe Application is one that is in itself legitimate (possibly commercial) software but which might be misused by an attacker. Detection of these types of application can be enabled or disabled by users of ESET software.

Just today, I searched google for a youtube downloader. I used a link that McAfee site advisor tagged as safe and then clicked from that page to the downloader site, a site that I'm 99% sure I've used before to download things like MBAM and Super-Anti Spyware, so I'm pretty sure it's safe. However, when running the installation program for the youtube downloader, MBAM blocked a malicious IP. I didn't catch the IP (I can provide it if someone can tell me if there's a second that records the recently blocked IPs on my machine). The main thing, though, is that I'm not sure if it was a specific add on that site that was red-flagged as malicious (I have had this happened where the site itself is safe but MBAM goes off because an add from a disreputable site comes up) or if the program I attempted to download was dangerous. The link to the download site and page is here...

I hate to double post but no one has an answer for this? Nothing? Not even a suggestion? I realize it isn't a major problem like my computer getting infected with a virus, but I would like to know if A) The site I tried to get the downloader from was safe and if it wasn't, is there anyplace that I could get a downloader safely?

If you are running the the Pro version of malwarebytes and have the IP Blocker enabled, and you go to that site and it is blocked, then more than likely is is not safe and you should stay away from it. If by chance its a false positive, you can report it in the false positive section and they can review the site to make sure its safe.

Sodo, I've never used this program, but having seen the parts of the EULA that you've quoted, I would stay far away from it. There are lots of other YouTube downloaders, and I suspect that some are much less problematic (though I wonder what I would find if I read their EULAs!).

So basically what I'm asking is: will downloading files (ie., video files, DOC files ect) compromise my anonomity? I ask because I visited some forums selling a answer to this very question and some people are saying that it is NOT safe to download files of any kind though TOR. I don't believe they only mean that the file(s) will "call home". It seems to me that they are saying that simply downloading files via TOR can compromise your anonymity (even if the file doesn't "call home"). Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks in advance!

So, it is safe to download file over Tor, at least about as safe as downloading them on a shared or public wireless network, for example but it is definitely not safe to open them and it will harm your anonymity.

Please take a moment to consider if this thread is worth bumping.QuestionrachelzegitPosted January 12, 2015rachelzegitResident  1Share Posted January 12, 2015 is secondlife completely safe to download i need to know as i got a new laptop for christmas and i dont want it messed up with viruses?im not doubting the creator of it in any way i just wanna know if it is safe thats all

So I'm new to programming and would like to learn Git using the command line and have been directed to the -scm.com/downloads page. However I notice the download link points to Sourceforge.net which I have been told is not safe to download software from.

In addition, sometimes when you're browsing the web you might be tempted to setup a PPA or to add a repository. Whenever you're adding repos that are not supported or maintained by Ubuntu you do run the risk of pulling down packages that aren't considered "safe", as the latest version of a particular package will always be pulled down from any repo unless otherwise pinned or the package is held. These packages could be unmaintained and have security vulnerabilities, or have regressions that could break the system.

Of course, if you're just using vanilla Ubuntu and not doing the above, then you'll be as safe as anybody else running Ubuntu, so have fun and feel free to use Ubuntu Software/Ubuntu Software Centre as often as you want.

I'm trying to look at a document on an invitation to interview but I get the message "It is not safe to download this file. If you really want to access this file please contact Customer Support."

I am having same issue while downloading sample file of project I'm asked to do this is what we have till now. I am getting this message :It is not safe to download this file. If you really want to access this file please contact Customer Support.

winget itself should be very safe, i saw some videos on youtube about it, and i know they have both an automated and manual process to check packages and make sure its not malware or modified or anything

Note: This version does not contain the Zoom integration for exam proctoring or exam support which was contained in SEB 3.2rc. There is a non-public SEB Alliance Edition, which continues to support Zoom integration. If you are interested to use this Zoom integration, please contact alliance@safeexambrowser.org.

I have downloaded the game several times on several different computers over time (both Mac and Windows); I have also downloaded Zeta, another game by the same developers. All of these devices had active anti-virus software. None of these devices registered the games as a threat. Should be safe.

Looking around online, there are a few websites which indicate that in the past SourceForge has bundled up adware/junkware/malware with the packages they source. However, apparently, these have been removed since the website was taken over by new management. Is there anyone out there who has downloaded Hugin recently and can shed light on its safety or otherwise?

Hi, I am looking to download the above, but obviously from safe recommend sites that will be approved by adobe, or that cause no viruses, complications with CC or any of its programs as I have them all, and dont spam with umpteen emails every day haha

Security starts with you, the user. Keeping written lists of passwords on scraps of paper, or in a text document on your desktop is unsafe and is easily viewed by prying eyes (both cyber-based and human). Using the same password over and over again across a wide spectrum of systems and web sites creates the nightmare scenario where once someone has figured out one password, they have figured out all your passwords and now have access to every part of your life (system, e-mail, retail, financial, work).

Wouldn't the download itself also identify you. I am very hesitant to download anything over Tor for this reason and would like to better understand how it works and if it is safe to do so without exposing myself or my details to the end servers.

Occasionally, when necessary, the system is also used to send important information in the form of outreach messages. These are messages not tied to any emergency situation, but still provide timely information relevant to the safety and overall well-being of our campus community.

The free phone-based app (for Apple and Android) promotes personal safety both on and off campus. SDSU Safe uses the latest mobile and GPS technologies to enhance the SDSU Alert Application with features that include instant push notifications during campus emergencies as well as instant access to a range of university safety resources and reporting tools.

SDSU Work Safe: This feature will promote the safety of individuals who may work alone during evenings or late nights on campus. Offered on a limited basis in pilot-mode during fall 2023, this feature will be rolled out campus- wide later in 2023.

The Safe to Sleep campaign offers a variety of free materials, including booklets, handouts and infographics, to help people learn about safe infant sleep and share safe sleep information with friends, family, and others.

Hi everyone. As a newcomer to Grim Dawn, I am enjoying it thoroughly! I am working through Ultimate and now have eyes on some of the cool mods but worry about downloading a virus or something harmful onto my computer.

Is there a way to know what downloads are safe and those to stay away from?

Thanks!

Any mod is safe as a mod is essentially data, not an executable. So for a mod to be potentially harmful first Crate would have to have some kind of exploit in GD and then someone must have found that exploit and come up with a clever way to abuse it in a mod. 0852c4b9a8
