T'HarPal

File Name: Roos T'HarPal

Birthplace: Otoh Gunga

Current Assignment: Lunartix Captain

Roos T'HarPal was discovered in by Spaceshot when they were imprisoned together. A quiet being, T'HarPal slowly began to trust Spaceshot. He revealed that he had been a lowlife thief who straightened his life out and became a guardian of his home city. All was well until those from his past became leaders of Otoh Gunga and found his new position insulting to them. They continued to put T'HarPal in life threatening situations until he finally confronted them. His outburst was ruled insubordination and treason. He was quickly tried by the leaders and their council. Found guilty he was sentenced to life in the prison of Dimension X. Spaceshot listened intently to T'HarPal's story over many days in the mines. When he and Blackstar formulated their escape T'HarPal was at the top of the list of inmates to take with them.

Now traveling the galaxies with The Lunartix, T'HarPal keeps the intergalactic thugs in line. He reluctantly goes along with Spaceshot and Blackstar, knowing that the only other option is back to the mines of Dimension X or the executioners of Otoh Gunga. He may seem slow to respond but his mind is always working as he is calculating the next step during a job. Whether The Lunartix are wrangling bounties, smuggling goods across the galaxy, or robbing a business, Captain T'HarPal is the one calling the shots when the fighting starts.

Construction Notes

I've wanted to give this Captain Tarpals and o-ring and better articulation for a while but could find no place for the character in my universe. When I finally figured out how to tie the Lunartix and Star Brigade in I knew I had to start this with this character. It's really not a complicated build. The most time consuming part was converting the t-crotch Corps torso to sit in the Flint waist and using a larger o-ring. The torso did receive a good amount of trimming and sanding, losing the extended shoulder pads and collar. The head sat high but fit well in the swivel of the torso. I built up the neck area of the torso to hide the too long post. Disappointed that I couldn't replicate the nice texture of the Tarpal legs, I chose to make them leg covers over the pants and ankle guards. Maybe lazy but I think it works well. And this guy is tall, over 5 inches tall to go with all of my 3 3/4 guys. The paint was tricky because the original had some awesome markings along the arms and ears. Unable to duplicate that I went with some spatters from a toothbrush.
