Giang Phung


Background: finance, investment, audit & control

Areas of research and consulting: bank performance, bank regulation, corporate governance, budgeting, financial crises, and emerging markets finance. 

Giang Phung obtained a Ph.D. degree in Finance from ESCP & Paris 1 Sorbonne in 2019. She also received a Master in Management, ESCP Business School in 2013 as well as an MBA from CFVG in 2009. She has been teaching Finance-Control at ISC Paris since 2019. Before and during her higher studies in France, she accumulated rich experience in the banking-finance sector with world-leading banks, insurance, or audit companies (HSBC, AXA, KPMG), government organizations (Ministry of Technology and Science, Vietnam), and startups. Her research focuses on sustainable finance, banking performance, financial regulations, and emerging market finance. Her articles have been published in a variety of well-known academic journals including Business Strategy and the Environment, Economics of Transition and Institutional Change, and Emerging Markets Finance and Trade. She also serves as an ad-hoc referee for several academic journals including International Review of Economics and Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Singapore Economic Review, Quantitative Finance and Economics, and PLOS ONE.

In parallel with her academic research, she serves as a delegate of the ESCP Alumni Vietnam and an engaged actor in sustainable finance projects in the Finance-Banking Network, Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts.
