In Ghost House Inn is a 2010 Indian Malayalam-language horror comedy film written, directed, and co-produced by Lal.[1] Starring Mukesh, Siddique, Jagadish, Ashokan and Nedumudi Venu in the lead roles, the film is a sequel to 2 Harihar Nagar (2009) and In Harihar Nagar (1990). In the film, Thomas Kutty buys a haunted bungalow and convinces his friends to stay with him on the first night. The trouble begins when they actually see the ghost of the mistress who was killed seventy years ago.
The story shifts to the present day, where Thomas Kutty (Ashokan) buys the bungalow in Ooty with the cash which he received in 2 Harihar Nagar, with the intent of converting it into a resort. The property is believed to be haunted by the ghost of the mistress who was killed 70 years ago. Thomas Kutty proves to his friends that these ghosts can be easily made by men, by keeping some men and women and disturbing Mahadevan, Govindan Kutty and Appukuttan in their sleep. He also tells them that he had stayed there many days before he bought the bungalow, all alone. The three agree to stay with Thomas Kutty in the bungalow and bring their wives along.

In the middle of the journey they see Father Dominic, who warns that the foursome are in the path of bad things. They do not pay heed to his words, but then the housekeepers employed by Thomas Kutty leave on the pretext of the house being haunted. At this point Thomas Kutty reveals that he had lied to the others about having stayed alone in the days before purchasing the bungalow. This revelation startles the four, who start fearing for their own and their wives' safety. After a series of unpleasant events, the four decide to apologise to Father Dominic and ask him for help.
Fr. Dominic accompanies the four to the house and attempts to exorcise the house. But things sour on their first meeting, when Dominic mentions he is in no way associated to any church and he is a person involved in paranormal activities. However, before the 2 leaves his house, he warns of a threat from fire to one of their spouse. This turns true, the same night, when Thomas Kutty's wife Jessy's dress catches fire, but she is rescued in the nick of time, and by Christopher, a doctor sent by Father Dominic.
Post this incident, the priest visit's the house, after his earlier advice to stay away from alcohol, meat and women is not followed by the friends, leaving Father Dominic injured in the left hand by an unknown force. Here things takes a bad turn, when the maid servant Marathagam gets possessed by the ghost. While exorcising the ghost, Father Dominic suffers a heart attack, and is declared dead. Thomas Kutty sells the house to Dorothy for half the price.
On their return journey, Mahadevan receives a call from Father Dominic, who says he faked his death. The Father reveals Dr. Christopher is his partner, Marathagam was actually one of his minions, who had a twin sister. However Mahadevan reveals that he realised Father Dominic was a fraud, when after his first encounter with the ghost in their house, Dominic bandaged his right hand instead of his left. Similarly Appukuttan reveals he knew the doctor had lied about his death, as he had checked his pulse. Govindan reveals they bribed the registrar with double the amount and he had revealed that Dorothy and Father Dominic are the same people. and as a final coup de grace, Thomas Kutty reveals they have the property and the amount he has the full amount he paid to Dorothy/Dominic for purchasing the property. The friends rejoice and head for Dorothy Bungalow.
Based on the supposed haunting of the Lutz family in Amityville, 1979's The Amityville Horror was the first of the Ed and Lorraine Warren movies and also the first of a whopping thirty Amityville Horror movies (and counting) to address the contentious real-life case. The Amityville Horror was a huge hit upon release despite some brutal reviews and is still fondly recalled as a classic of the haunted house genre despite feeling incredibly dated.
The Conjuring franchise is going to continue with The Conjuring: Last Rites. Speculation is running rampant as to what Warren case The Conjuring: Last Rites will cover. While the Smurl haunting was chronicled in the 1991's The Haunted, it's one of the biggest contenders to make it to the big screen. The Smurl haunting is one of Ed and Lorraine Warren's largest cases, with patriarch Jack Smurl even claiming that he was sexually assaulted by one of the spirits in his home. Lorraine believed that the Smurl house was infested with four spirits, including a demon which used the other three to attack the family.
It's a triumph of art direction, inspired by the Disney World attraction and by every haunted house ever crept through by Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Abbott, Costello, et al. Doors bulge, curtains sway, and there's a scenic graveyard behind the house, complete with four marble busts that perform as a barbershop quartet.
The lord of the manor is Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker), who seems obsessed with Sara Evers. Flashbacks explain why. In antebellum New Orleans, Gracey was in love with a young woman who looked exactly like Sara, and when they could not marry, they both killed themselves. Which means Gracey is a ghost, of course, but leaves unanswered the question of why he could not marry the ghost of his original lover and stop haunting respectable married Realtors(TM).
The story, in any event, gives the characters a lot to deal with, which means we are not relegated to a movie full of banging doors, swinging chandeliers and other ghostly effects. There are a lot of those, of course, especially as the kids make their own way around the gloomy pile, but there is a certain poignancy about the central dilemma, and the Gracey character reflects it well, eventually answering one of the questions posed above, although I will not say which one.
The movie doesn't quite work, maybe because the underlying theme is an uneasy fit with the silly surface. Murphy is not given much to do; he's the straight man, in a story involving his wife and ghosts. If anyone steals the movie, it's Stamp, who must have been studying Hammer horror films for years, and puts the ham back into Hammer. "The Haunted Mansion" won't much entertain older family members, but it might be fun for kids and seems headed for a long run on home video.
This is really a philosophical review. First, for the positives. The acting is good, the story is easy to follow, and the photography is well-done. There are some genuine scares here, and overall the film reminds me of a non-comedic version of Drag Me To Hell (a Horror/Comedy, 2009). The problem I have with this story is that a "good witch" is eventually called upon to defeat an evil entity, but in reality that is always only a ruse since a house divided against itself cannot stand. "Good witchcraft" and "bad witchcraft" are only two sides of the same coin, and can only be trounced by a person walking in the Light of Jesus the Anointed. So the girl is saved from the unclean spirit of the burned woman, but her finance loses a finger--and what happens to her when the story is over? She's now left open to entities all over the world--yes, even in Walmart--unless she makes things right with the Supreme God and his/her love for us all. So, well scripted, acted, and shot--but poorly based on any workable philosophy.
On the arrival in Thailand, the Americans Jim (James Landry Hbert) and his girlfriend Julie (Scout Taylor-Compton) hire the polite chauffeur Gogo (Michael S. New) and his van at the airport. They sightsee Bangkok and learn the legend of the ghost houses, miniature houses where spirits peacefully live and do not haunt the living. Then Jim proposes Julie to marry him with an engagement ring. They meet the British Robert (Russell Geoffrey Banks) and Billy (Rich Lee Gray) in the hotel lobby and are invited to celebrate their engagement with them. Robert summons Jim to visit a fleshpots and Billy stays outside with Julie. When they leave the spot, Julie has an argument with Jim that is drunken and accepts Robert's invitation to visit ghost houses at the outskirts. Robert wears Julie's scarf about a doll's neck and then he flees with Billy leaving the American couple in the middle of nowhere. Julie does not feel well and Jim calls Gogo to find them and take Julie to a hospital. However, when Gogo sees Julie, he takes her to a nearby village where his aunts live. Then they take Julie to a monk that wears amulets about her wrist and Julie recovers. They return to the hotel and when Julie removes her amulets, she has dreadful visions. What has Robert done with Julie?
"Ghost Story" is a totally underrated horror film with a genuine ghost story. The creepy and spooky screenplay does not have flaws and explores the beauties and beliefs of the exotic Thailand with magnificent locations. The few special effects are excellent. The cast is great and the unknown Scout Taylor-Compton is a beautiful woman and has top-notch performance. In the en, "Ghost Story" is one of the best recently released horror film. My vote is seven.

Ghost effects and ghost make-up was good. Our two leads were less than impressive. Better than most of the recent horror film offerings.
