## 1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Ghar Hisaab app (package com.talenthubapps.homeexpensemanager) handles information. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the developer of Ghar Hisaab. This policy is effective from 27 September 2026.

Ghar Hisaab is a personal record-keeping tool for your household. It helps you keep track of recurring home services, such as milk, newspaper, tiffin, water can, laundry (dhobi), maid, cook, driver or any custom service. You can mark daily deliveries or attendance and work out monthly bills, payments and balances.

Ghar Hisaab is not a payment app, bank, lender or financial service. It does not move money. The amounts shown in the app are your own records and estimates.

## 2. Information we collect

None. We do not collect any personal information. The app has no account, login or sign-up, and it does not have permission to use the internet. This means the app cannot send your information to us or to anyone else.

## 3. Information stored on your phone

The information you enter is saved only on your phone, in the app’s own local database. This includes:

- the services you add and their rates;

- daily entries (deliveries or attendance), notes and vacations;

- payments and advances;

- your household name;

- your app settings.

This information leaves your phone only through the backup and sharing options described in sections 6 and 7, which you control. We cannot see it.

## 4. No ads, analytics or tracking

The app does not have internet permission. It has no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. It does not use your advertising ID, does not track you, does not use cookies and does not sell your data.

If a future version adds analytics, crash reporting or ads, we will update this policy before that version is released, and the change will be disclosed in the app store listing.

## 5. Permissions the app uses

- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): asked only if you turn on reminders. Used to show a daily reminder and a month-end bill reminder. You can turn reminders off in the app, or turn notifications off in your phone’s system settings, at any time.

- Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): used only so that your scheduled reminders keep working after your phone restarts.

- Prevent phone from sleeping (WAKE_LOCK): used only briefly by Android’s WorkManager while it prepares a scheduled reminder.

The app does not have internet permission. It does not ask for location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, call log, storage or photo permissions.

## 6. Backups

### Android backup

If backup is turned on in your phone’s settings, Android’s built-in backup (Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer) may copy the app’s database and settings to your own Google account backup. This is controlled by your Android backup settings and is handled by Google under Google’s privacy policy. We cannot access these backups.

### Export and import

“Export backup” creates a JSON file and saves it wherever you choose, using your phone’s file picker. “Import backup” reads a file that you pick. You are responsible for where you store or share these files.

## 7. Sharing bills

When you tap Share, Share on WhatsApp or Copy, the app creates a bill as an image or as text:

- A bill image is stored temporarily in the app’s private cache on your phone and is deleted automatically after about 7 days.

- For Share, the app hands the bill to the app you choose (for example, WhatsApp) through Android’s share sheet. For Copy, the bill text is placed on your phone’s clipboard.

A shared bill may include your household name, service names, dates, quantities and amounts that you entered. Please check it before you send it. After you share a bill, what happens to it is governed by the policies of the app you shared it with.

## 8. How long data is kept and how to delete it

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can:

- delete items (for example, a service or a payment) inside the app;

- clear the app’s storage from your phone’s settings; or

- uninstall the app.

A copy may still exist in your Android (Google account) backup or in backup files you exported. These are under your control.

Because we do not hold a copy of your data, we cannot restore lost data or delete data on your behalf. You are still welcome to email us if you need help.

## 9. Security

Your data is protected by Android’s app sandbox, which is designed to stop other apps from reading this app’s private storage. We recommend using a screen lock on your phone.

Exported backup files are plain JSON and are not encrypted. Anyone who gets the file can read your records, so keep these files private and share them only with people you trust.

## 10. Children

Ghar Hisaab is intended for adults (18 years or older) managing a household. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and in fact we do not collect information from anyone.

## 11. Your rights and choices

Because we do not collect or process your personal data, all your information stays in your hands. You can view, correct or delete it directly in the app.

We intend to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. As the developer, we do not process any personal data of users: the information you enter stays on your device, under your control.

## 12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the app changes. The updated policy will be shown in the app with a new “Last updated” date.
