Christmas is a season of Love, full of many beautiful memories, sometimes as a result of the songs that come with it. You can equally say, it is the major season in the Christian Calendar that comes with carols and memorable melodies that we cherish.

In the evening, Nicole and Janice and I went to visit the missionaries who live nearby, for me to say goodbye to them, for Janice to say hello to them as she hadn't met them yet, and to celebrate a little bit of Christmas with them in their lovely home. Nicole got major culture shock when they invited us to sit at their dining table (proper table and chairs not plastic!) and drink tea and eat cake! They are always so kind and welcoming, and their house has the wonderfully warm homely vibe that's perfect for Christmas. We caught up, talked for hours, ate plenty of yummy cakes, chocolate and cheesy popcorn, and then they sang some beautiful songs for us, at which point it all became too much and of course all three of us were blubbing away! It was a lovely evening and a peaceful way to say goodbye and end such a fantastic year.

Tsiboe appeared on the last three Boney M. albums: Ten Thousand Lightyears (1984), Kalimba de Luna - 16 Happy Songs (1984) and Eye Dance (1985) and also recorded Christmas songs with the group, which were internationally released only after the split of the band on the new Boney M. Christmas album, The 20 Greatest Christmas Songs in 1986. Reggie sang the main vocals on a number of Boney M. songs, including "Kalimba de Luna", "Happy Song", "Going Back West", "My Chrie Amour", "Young, Free and Single", "Bang Bang Lulu", "Dreadlock Holiday", "Barbarella Fortuneteller", "Mother and Child Reunion" and the Christmas songs "Joy to the World", "Oh Christmas Tree", "The First Nol" and "Auld Lang Syne".

Our books feature songs in the original languages, with translations into English. Many include beautiful illustrations, commentary by ordinary people, and links to recordings, videos, and sheet music. Your purchase will help us keep our site online!

This lively collection includes 19 game songs, story songs, and richly textured multipart songs from the vocal traditions of the Akan people of Ghana and the Shona of Zimbabwe. These vibrant songs and stories stress the importance of active, responsible participation in society. Full, exuberant participation is also the norm in African music-making, where everyone is invited to take part in creating a unified voice that resonates with the spirit of community.

This called for a celebration, war or no war. Africans have to dance and we celebrated until the rooster crowed at 6 a.m. We sang Christmas songs. Every one sang in his or her own language. For the first time all the pain and agony of the past few months went away.

The Symphonials, a choir made up of mostly alumni of Valley View University performed curtain raiser pieces (there were no curtains: a point I will return to) for over thirty minutes, exploring songs of Western and African origin, both traditional and contemporary.

I feel that is wrong. All good music leaves moments for the performers to rest and gather themselves again, however brief that moment may be. All good musical events should allow for that. Had there been curtains to be raised, the night afforded several opportunities for those curtains to be lowered to give the choristers the privacy to be human and gather themselves for the next set of songs.

This did nothing to spoil the night. The incidents with power did little to ruin the event. The only thing that marred the rest of the night was the selection of songs. I paid little attention to that until about this time (scene 7 on the program outline) when I realised what a terrible headache I had.

The last performer among the galaxy of stars on the bill, Kuami Eugene, stepped on stage in an all-white apparel and switched the show into a praise and worship session with a back-to-back medley of well-known gospel songs. He ended his performance with a couple of hits from his repertoire.

In a post-match interview, Kudus referred to his goal as a Christmas present for the fans, aligning with the festive theme of the video. The use of Ghanaian songs in football celebrations, as seen with Kudus, emphasises the influence of local music in the global sports scene.

Aduonum has not only been singing nonstop for days, but she's been doing it entirely with Ghanaian songs, covering popular genres such as gospel, highlife and hiplife. She intends to maintain that patriotic playlist until the end in her quest to promote Ghanaian music. ff782bc1db
