INTRODUCTION TO THE DEPARTMENT

The journey of the Department of History at GGDC Salboni has begun with the inception of the college in 2014. From the beginning the department has offered both Honours and General courses under Vidyasagar Universityand have attracted a steady number of eager students every year. Currently the department is successfully disseminating the CBCS curriculum at all levels from 2018 as adopted by the university.The department has 4 sanctioned posts of full-time professors and the student intake capacity at entry level to UG History (Honours) is 60. At present 3 fulltime faculty members are serving to create a holistic academic atmosphere in the department.
