Words contain regularities. The extent to which the orthographic structure conveys information about the meaning of words differs between languages. In this meeting, we will discuss the extent to which readers can grasp information about the meaning of words, even if they do not know the word. We bring together interdisciplinary experts in psycholinguistics, complex system scientists, and educators to discuss how to quantify the differences between languages. It is a valuable platform for establishing cross-linguistic behavioural studies on quantitative orthographic-semantic research across the globe. We invite you to join us and contribute to the fruitful discussion on the regularities between semantics and orthography in different languages!
