Good News for UAE Workforce: Long Weekend, Less Working Hours
UAE federal Govt. has announced a massive change in working days and hours for Govt. entities which is going to be on action from 1 January, 2022. The working days has reduced to 6 to 4.5 days and working hours from 45 to 44.5 hours. Based on the declaration, all of the 7 Emirates is adopting the new working time gradually.
The new working days will be from Monday to Thursday and maximum working hours per week will be 44.5 hours as Friday is marked as half day for office. Office hours for 4 working days is from 7:30 in the morning to 3:30 at noon while closing time on Friday will be on 12:00pm.
As a muslim major country Friday is always counted as a special day. Emphasizing on that, the Govt. has decided to keep several advantages for employees on Friday. The weekly sermon will start after 1:15pm and employees would have the flexibility to work from home as well as choosing the working hours.
People from all over the emirates have welcomed this much needed initiative with overwhelming joy. It is believed that the decision will increase the productivity of employees and the actionable decision will definitely maintain the work life balance of the employees.
