Digital Citizenship Plan

Artifact #6

Our elementary school, Salazar Elementary, as part of Computer Science Resolution - CSR 2025, was one of two out of 16 district elementary selected to receive money and support to integrate computer science into the school's mission and goals. One of our school's goals for CSR 2025 for year one is to assist the students in becoming digital citizens. A digital citizenship plan from Franklin Township Community School Corporation came across my Twitter stream. I did a major overhaul of this plan - adding a section for 6th grade (Franklin Townships' one only went to 5th grade), including the new Common Sense Digital Citizenship Curriculum lesson plans, and updating links for recommended books and Google's Internet for Awesome games.

I plan to use these lessons with my 4th-6th grade gifted students this coming school year; and to check in with other teachers at our school if they need any help in their implementation.
