Open google contacts in your Pc/laptop. If you have the latest version of contacts then it won't export your contacts just click on "Switch to the old version". Then go to the export and choose to create Vcard. Save it where you can find easily such as desktop. If you save it properly you will get a Vcard file named Contacts. Now all you need to do is logging in into your icloud and voila! Import contacts from Vcard. It will only take 1-5 sec depending on your internet speed. and in real time you will get all your contacts imported into the i Cloud/iPhone from the google. P.s Please be careful if you still have the old android and it isn't in sync then the contacts which are not synchronized will not be imported into your phone. so i will recommend to synchronize all your contacts! Toodles.

This did not work for me. I added the gmail app and it did not ask to sync nor did it sync. All of this used to sync up for me and now it doesn't without any settings having been changed. Could an update to apple or google have caused this?

Today my iPhone 6 was reformatted at New Delhi Apple service center. I got only half of my contacts on iCloud. My older contact are missing , my old contacts were backed up on google. Can you help me retrieve my google contacts to iPhone 6

I know this may go without saying for some of you, but for me it did not, so I am going to put it out there. None of the below advice was working to sync between phones until I signed into google on my COMPUTER and went to contacts. Only at that point did google recognize my contacts and transfer them from my android to my iphone.

I posted this, but have you gone to your computer and logged into your google account and then contacts. Google will then sync your contacts...... if you have done the other steps, then just open contacts on new phone and they should be there....

Go into contacts and click "group" in the upper left hand corner. See which contacts are currently being displayed IE: iCloud, gmail, on my iPhone, etc. Turn a couple of them off, and see if half the contacts disappear. It is possible that the contacts are currently being synced from multiple locations, hence the doubleups

This wikiHow teaches you how to add your Gmail account's contacts to your iPhone's address book. You can add a Gmail account if the account isn't already on your iPhone, or you can enable contacts from an existing Gmail account on your phone.

You can simply "hide" them from the contact list by tapping on the "groups" link/button at the top left of the contacts screen (scroll down until the GOOGLE MAIL appears and uncheck the lines about the contact subgroups - or ALL - that you want to hide)

With AnyTrans for Mac, you have complete control over your iPhone. Simply open the AnyTrans app, plug your iPhone into the Mac, and you will be able to create backups of your entire device, or particular items like messages, photos, and even contacts!

I've always stored all of my contacts in Gmail, but would like to transfer them over to iCloud. I see under my Gmail account that I can export all of my Contacts to a variety of formats. And when logged into iCloud, I can likewise import Contacts from those formats. My questions are:

I spend a decent amount of time setting the photos for all the contacts on my iPhone so that the photo will come up full-screen when talking to them on the phone. I use ActiveSync to sync my iPhone with Google Contacts and Calendar, and that is all working fine, and the photos appear correctly in GMail.

Gmail does resize the contact photos and will only appear as the small photo in the top right when a call is received. Simply taking a photo on your I phone and assigning it to a contact will only revert to the small photo in seconds as soon as the phone syncs with gmail server. Put your contacts on your phone and don't sync with gmail if you want full screen contact photos to display during calls.

iTunes will always sync the contacts (i.e. phone numbers, address, PHOTOS) between your iPhone and Gmail address book because you have chosen to sync them in the first place.

Moving contacts between phones or to your email should work seamlessly, but historically that hasn't been the case. It was such a problem that carriers now offer to do this for you, though many find that either not all of their contacts transfer over or that they end up with many duplicates.

Are you a new iPhone or Android user who has been struggling to import contacts from Google to your device? It's certainly not an uncommon problem. Whether you're transferring phone numbers and contact information from one device to another, it can be difficult to remember which contacts belong in which apps. However, you can sync Google contacts with Google Sheets, Evernote, Notion.so and even your iPhone.

An increasing number of people are connecting their phones to their Google accounts for added convenience when looking up important contact details or making calls. When switching devices and operating systems, though, it's important that users understand how to transfer those existing contacts onto their new phone so they don't lose any important numbers in the shuffle. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to import contacts from Google into the Messages app on an Apple iOS device or Android device.

That's how you can export Google contacts to iPhone quickly and easily. It lets you sync Google contacts with your iPhone contacts automatically without having to do it manually. Below we will highlight our favorite Google and Gmail automations.

Using IFTTT, you can easily sync your Google Contacts with other applications. For example, if you want to automatically add contacts from your Gmail address book to your WhatsApp account, all you have to do is set up the relevant applet. You can also use IFTTT to import Google Contacts in an online spreadsheet and send notifications for any changes or updates made.

The vCard file format for address book contact details is the industry-standard contact file format and almost all Web-based email services, computer email programs and smartphone contact applications can handle vCard files with the VCF file extension. Google's Gmail email service is no exception and you can export your business and personal contacts in vCard file format for use in other programs or applications. The vCard file stores all contact details, including name, phone numbers, postal address, email addresses and Web pages. The Apple iPhone recognizes the file format and adds the information for each entry to its Contact application.

Select the radio button beside either "All Contacts" to export all stored contacts or "The Group" to export an existing contacts group. If you choose the group option, select the group you want to export from the pull-down menu.

Now, open the Contacts app or the Phone app and go to the Contacts section. Stay here for a couple of minutes with your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi or stable cellular data. Soon, all your contacts from your Google account will appear on your iPhone.
