Bio

Georgios Loukopoulos is an Associate Professor of Finance at University of Sussex.

He was awarded his PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bath. During his PhD, he was also Teaching Assistant for several accounting and finance courses for both bachelor and master students. Before joining the department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Sussex, he worked at the University of Strathclyde and the Open University Business School as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance.


His main research interests lie in the areas of international accounting and corporate finance. He is interested on IPOs, corporate governance, personal income tax, earnings management, tax aggressiveness, profit shifting, ESG, corporate environmental disclosure, climate change risk, labor investment efficiency, political uncertainty, tournament incentives, stock price crash risk, implied cost of capital, and audit pricing.
