The pioneer journals of George Kirkham span his entire lifetime.   They were written generally in pencil and by light of a candle or an oil lamp.  The  jouranls were eventually transfered to microfische.

Years later, William G. Kirkham, son of Lott Kirkham, son of George Kirkham, went to the library and painstakingly copied out over 1,000 pages of George's journal in long hand.  This labor of love took William one entire year to complete.  His daughter, Kathy Reed, then transcribed her dad's handwritten copies to word documents and preapred them for printing.

A number of printed journals were published are most are still in circulation today amongst George's descendants.

George's journals and many of his personal papers were donatned to the Harold B. Lee Library at BYU in Provo, Utah and can be viewed today in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections section.

Rich Kirkham obtained the word documents from Kathy, combined them into one searchable pdf document which is now availabe for anyone to download.

George Kirkham's story is nothing short of remarkable!

Thank you to everyone who made this project possible.
