LMS-Bath Summer School on Geometric and Categorical Representation theory

University of Bath, 2nd - 4th August 2023.

Registration for this event is now closed.

Notes from the lectures are available here

Speakers:

Olivier Dudas "Characters of finite groups of Lie type and the Hecke category"

Peng Shan "KLR algebras and categorification"

The past ten years have been some of the most exciting and fruitful years in the history of representation theory. One of the overarching themes in this story is the search for richer structures which secretly underpin the classical problems in the field - these might manifest themselves as geometric or diagrammatic categories. These richer structures provide us with new intuition and new lines of attack on long-standing open problems.  This summer school will serve as an introduction to these ideas, and will be followed by a five-day workshop.
