My name is Jeon-Young Kang (강전영).
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography (지리학과) at the Kyung Hee University (경희대학교), South Korea.
Before joining the KHU, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography Education (지리교육과) at the Kongju National University (공주대학교), South Korea.
I worked as a postdoctoral research associate within the CyberGIS Center for Advanced Digital and Spatial Studies at the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, under the supervision of Dr. Shaowen Wang.
I have received my Ph.D. from the Department of Geography, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York in September 2018, under the supervision of Dr. Jared Aldstadt.
My research interests lie broadly in Geographic Information Science (GIScience), Geospatial BigData Analytics, GeoAI, through my work to date has been centered on spatial simulation modeling. I leverage high-performance computing power on the advanced cyberinfrastructure to discover geographic knowledge from spatial simulations.
