The department has a Tradition of good result. In the year of 2010, the department had organized a two day state level seminar on “Social and Environmental Movements in Maharashtra”. In the year of 2012 the department had organized a two day National level seminar on “Research and Research Methodology in Commerce, Social Science and Geography”. There were more than 45 participants from all over Maharashtra for State Level Seminar.Keeping in view the development in Science and technology, the geography department is conducting the Environmental Awareness Course from the year of 2004-2005. The Department has glorious history of result in the college. Five Students of the Department were stood first in college at B.A level.

The department promotes to the students for active participation in research activities. On an average six Students of geography department regularly present research projects in the Avishkar research project presentation competition.

As a social responsibility the Department of Geography creates awareness among the local community regarding solid waste management and other environmental issues through cycle club. Plastic Free Campus is an initiative of the department in collaboration with IITM. The campaigning is at three stages, i.e. Collection and Classification; Processing; and Social Awareness & Community Participation.
