Igneous petrology, geochemistry & volcanology

Assistant Professor (PAD)

Hi! I am a geolosist working in igneous petrology, geochemistry and volcanology. My main research interest is the application of petrology and geochemistry of glasses and minerals for understanding volcanic systems, from both analytical and experimental perspectives. In particular, I combine geochemical and experimental data to reveal the evolution and timescales of pre-eruptive magmatic events (storage, mixing, eruption triggers), using a variety of techniques in minerals and melts, among them diffusion. In addition, I am interested in the use Raman spectroscopy to decipher glass structure and properties, especially water contents. Other of my interests include metamorphic petrology and planetary geology.
