Privacy Policy for GeoCompass

GeoCompass ("we", "our", or "the App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information.

When you choose to save a location in GeoCompass, information related to that location may be stored locally on your device so that you can access it later.

GeoCompass does not require you to create an account to use saved-location features.

Device Sensors

GeoCompass may use information from supported device sensors to provide features such as:

- Compass direction

Sensor information is used to provide these functions and may vary depending on your device hardware, calibration, and environment.

GPS Speed Information

When location services are enabled, GeoCompass may calculate and display your movement speed using GPS and location information provided by your device.

GPS speed information is intended for general informational purposes and should not be considered a certified or professional measurement.

Location Search

When you search for a location, your search query may be processed through Apple system services, map services, geocoding services, or other service providers necessary to return location results.

These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

2. Moon Phase Information

GeoCompass may use your date, time, and approximate geographic location to calculate or display moon phase and related astronomical information.

This information is used only to provide the corresponding App features.

3. Information We Do Not Require

GeoCompass does not require you to create an account to use its main features.

Unless separately disclosed within the App, GeoCompass does not intentionally request access to:

- Your contacts

- Your photos or videos

- Your microphone

- Your messages

- Your passwords

- Your financial information

4. How We Use Information

Information accessed by GeoCompass is used to:

- Provide current location information

- Display compass direction

- Calculate GPS-based speed

- Provide location search

- Save locations selected by you

- Provide level and orientation tools

- Display moon phase information

- Maintain and improve App functionality

- Diagnose technical issues and improve stability

We do not use your precise location for purposes unrelated to the functionality you request unless separately disclosed and permitted by you.

5. Local Data Storage

Certain information, such as saved locations and App preferences, may be stored locally on your device.

Deleting GeoCompass may also remove locally stored App data, subject to the behavior of iOS and any system backup services enabled on your device.

6. Third-Party Services

GeoCompass may rely on Apple-provided technologies or other third-party services for functions such as:

- Location services

- Maps

- Geocoding and location search

- Crash diagnostics

- Analytics

- Advertising, if applicable

If advertisements are displayed within GeoCompass, advertising providers may process limited device or advertising-related information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable platform requirements.

Where required by Apple, GeoCompass will request your permission before accessing data used for tracking across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We do not sell your precise location information.

Information may be shared only when necessary to:

- Provide a feature you request

- Operate services integrated into the App

Any third-party provider receiving information is responsible for handling it according to its own privacy practices and applicable law.

9. Data Retention

Information stored locally by GeoCompass generally remains on your device until you delete the relevant data or uninstall the App.

Information processed by third-party services may be retained according to the policies of those providers.

10. Your Choices and Permissions

You remain in control of device permissions granted to GeoCompass.

On iOS, you can review or change permissions through:

You may disable location access at any time. However, features that depend on GPS or location information may become unavailable or less accurate.

GeoCompass is a general-purpose utility application and is not specifically directed toward children under the age required by applicable law to provide consent for data processing.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable laws.

12. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through GeoCompass.

However, no electronic storage, device, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Accuracy Disclaimer

Compass direction, GPS location, speed, level measurements, moon phase information, and other sensor-based results may vary depending on factors including:

- Device hardware

- GPS signal availability

- Sensor calibration

- Environmental conditions

- Network availability

- Location permissions

GeoCompass is intended as a general utility tool and should not be relied upon for emergency, aviation, maritime, professional surveying, or other safety-critical navigation purposes.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to GeoCompass, legal requirements, or third-party services.

When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will include a revised effective date.
