Brett-Bot The Cryonaut's Sega Genesis Stuff
A tribute to the box art and design aesthetics of my favorite video game console in the form of new/"remastered" emblems, logos, artwork, case inserts, and cart labels. All of this is free to use for NON-COMMERCIAL purposes.
I wanted to create a new version of the Genesis emblem that was as faithful as possible to the original look and feel, but much more detailed and high-res. I set about tracing the original shape and then creating a custom brushed metal texture for the base as well as a custom black glass-like texture for the letters. In order to ensure that the shadows and highlights on it were as realistic as possible I created a bump map and used simulated lighting to generate the correct shading. Sadly Sega would stop utilizing this iconic emblem starting in year five, when the packaging switched from the black grid style to the red diagonal striped style. Since I put so much time and energy into this version though, I figured I'd use it in as many ways as possible, so you can find all sorts of variations in wallpapers and resources on the emblem page. All in all, considering I came up with eight different color variations, this leads to sixteen different variations of the Genesis emblem now that I've created.

Other stuff...
Sometimes I like to design the box art for and create images depicting games that didn't actually exist, either as an exercise in indulging my imagination or just for shits and giggles.
