On her way home Lucy literally stumbles over a body… Simon’s body. Although not dead, Simon was very badly injured. Lucy brought Simon to her home and cared for him. While at this modest home, Simon began to fall for Lucy. After a failed attempt on his life, Simon realizes that if he stays Lucy will be in danger. It appears that he really cannot live without Lucy so he returns to her and brings her back to London with him to be his wife. Lucy discovers Simon’s secret war… a war that threatens to tear them apart.
Hoyt created quite the emotional story. The characters were developed well with much feeling. Once you start reading this book you will not want to put it down. A must read for historical romance fans.
