Science & STEM
Teacher, Trainer, and Advocate
Welcome to my online teaching portfolio. On the menu above you will find links to my resume, professional affiliations, and a list of my professional development presentations. Browse through the student samples to view a snippet of hands on activities and project based learning products. Finally, I have also included a section regarding the after school STEM programs that I founded and coordinate.
I am currently a 5th grade STEM and 6th grade science and pre-ap science teacher at Noemi Dominguez Elementary in La Feria ISD. I am the founder and sponsor of my campus' Science Club which competes in Science Olympiad, codes with Google CS First and Scratch, and uses TinkerCAD for 3D printing. Recently I become a Code.Org CS Fundamentals and Google CS First Facilitator, as well as a member of the 100Kin10 Teacher Forum which regularly gathers STEM teacher perspective and insight to share and help guide the work of 100Kin10 and its network of 280 partner organizations.
I am seeking a position as a director, coordinator and/or facilitator because I want to be able to reach more students and to help them explore and fall in love with science, technology, engineering, and computer programming through a variety of hands on activities and opportunities. My ultimate goal is to increase the number of Hispanic girls’ interest and motivation in pursuing S.T.E.M. related careers.
My students are my legacy.
WeTeach_CS, funded in large part by the National Science Foundation, helped me and my students fall in love with coding.
