LESSON 1: Jesus Is the Light

Scripture Study: Matthew 5:3-16

Background Scripture:  Matthew 4–5; Luke 17–21; Philippians 3:20

Theme Connection: Junior Lights will reflect on tangible ways they can allow God's light to shine through their attitudes and actions.

Lesson Objective: By the end of the lesson on the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3–16), Junior Lights will list three ways they can exhibit characteristics from the beautiful attitudes. 

WEDNESDAY July 8

LESSON 2: Queen of Sheba Responds to the Light

Scripture Study: 1 Kings 10:1–13 

Background Scripture:   1 Kings 10; 2 Chronicles 9; Matthew 12:42; Luke 11:31; James 1:2–5 

Theme Connection: Junior Lights will consider their prayers and prayer requests.

Lesson Objective: By the end of the lesson on the Queen of Sheba (1 Kings 10:1–13), Junior Lights will understand that God gives wisdom to those who respond to the Light, just as He did for the queen of Sheba. . 

THURSDAY July 9

LESSON 3: Priscilla and Aquila Share the Light

Scripture Study:  Acts 18:1–4, 24–28 

Background Scripture:  Acts 18:1–4, 24–28 

Theme Connection: Junior Lights will work together in teams to study the Bible and to study in school.

Lesson Objective: By the end of the lesson on Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18:1–4, 24–28), students will appreciate how Priscilla and Aquila shared the light to influence early Christians.
